Today my aunt woked me up so she can guide me how to go to Toronto Public library from our abode. In our way we passed by a parade. Curious as we are we stopped to find its the Indian festival. So here are some of the pictures I took.

What are some things I found out about this festival?

One, there is a huge population of Indian descent in Canada .

Two, like most though they had left their country in search of better opportunities they brough with them their identity meaning their culture and traditions.

Three, that as a group they are not ashamed to be known as such. And that had enabled them to share and influence others. The parade was well attended by people of various age, sex and skin color. A testament as to how far spread Hinduism has spread

Fourth, that Canada is a very tolerant country. It embraces diversity. I suppose this respect for individual difference makes it a safe place for everyone

Fifth ,that to be this progressive rules and discipline are necessary. During the parade one can see how organised and behaved the participants as well as the viewers are. The clean wasnt clogged since they just use one lane and they don't drop trash as seen on most third world countries. What a big difference if I may say.

Even before I visited this beautiful country I already love festivals as they are great avenue to learn more about a certain culture. To my mind much of the troubles we had spring out from our lack of understanding of other countries way of life.

To end I suppose Canada is progressive because it isn't afraid to be open to what life has to offer that is diversity and change. I'm sure these group like most learn the Canadian way of doing things yet they remain a unique identity by incorporating the knowledge or wisdom of their foreign forefathers
