South Sweden!

South Sweden!

January 2023 · 4 min read · Sweden

After visiting my friends, I drove off I continued driving north bound! My plan was to drive until I saw a nice place or wen I arrived in the city of Jönköping! There was a little lake, that my friend recommended me, where I could park for the night! But after 30 minutes driving throughout the forest,  I saw a parking and some kind of sign! Did not know what the sign said but it was in the middle of nowhere so I stopped and went on a little discovery hike!

I ended up on the bank of a little lake! There were picnic tables, chairs, a little house where you could dress in your swimming gear, boats, a bathing jetty and a big fire pit!

A woman was sitting on one of the chairs reading a book! I asked her what kind of place this was! She said that the people of the village nearby, had build this facility and that they also maintained it together. And it was free for every buddy to use, as long as you keep it clean! Even I as a tourist could use this place! She then told me someting about the freedom to roam in Sweden, or "every man's right" it's the right, that every hase got to access certain public or privately owned land, lakes, and rivers for recreation and exercise. The right is also called the right of public access to the wilderness or the "right to roam".

I was free to stay there and take pictures! But she said that it was way more beautiful at sunrise! And so I decided to go back there in the morning! And I could stay in the parking lot for the night!  So this is how plans could changes! now to look for a location to shoot the sunset! The weather looked promising for a epic sunset!   So I just drove around, not paying attention where I was going! Than suddenly I realized that I was going back to where I came from! Well, at least I know a nice place over there to watch the sunset! And it was epic!

This was one of the best sunset i have seen this past year, i really loved it! There were so many different colors in the sky that evening! Love it 🥰

On the way back I was in a real rush! I really fell in love with this country! arriving at my camp spot Sleeping in the middle of the forest, pitch black and so incredible silence, was a real experience! I cant describe how incredible silence that silence is! I really slept like a baby!

That next morning, I just was lost for words! There was a little layer of fog above the lake, bird sounds all around and at the other side of the lake I heard deer "barking" There were not many colors like the evening before this but was, for sure, the best morning of last year! So the best sunset and sunrise in a row! I love this country!

What do you think if you see all those pictures, epic wright? It was a big rush to experience moments like these so quickly after each other! That morning I treated myself on a big breakfast and around lunch time i drove of there! Then the next question was, where do I go to next? I decided that I wanted to go to the coast and wonder around there some where! I looked at the camper contact app and saw a camper parking in a marina close by the city of Gotenburg! I had done some research at home and located a couple of lighthouses on the coast! I wanted to photograph  them with some long exposure photography!  And off coursers I hoping for a nice sunset!

I didn't took the direct route across the main highway but instead i drove trough the forest and country side, taking small local roads! Driving with the windows open, playing my favorite music and just chill! I love it.

I had lunch at a little lake! There was a toilet and a picnic table! And it was also very quiet! Driving an old van like this is hard work! So I staid there for a while and took a nice after lunch nap! from here, it was a one hour drive to the coast and my camp spot for the night! I am hoping for a nice sunset again!
