My Sunday in Thailand took me yet to another interesting park this one was located in the city of Bangkok. I was told that this is another enormous park with lots of lovely Botanical gardens to be seen in this park. Now just a note of warning i am prone in doing long post well this will be extra , extra long mainly more photos actually why because i love flowers.
H.M.Queen Sirikit Park was established on August 12,1992 to commemorate the 60th birthday anniversary of HM the Queen. The Park covers an area of 200 rai (120,000 sqm) or equivalent to 80 acres.
This park is know as "Little Forest in a Big City" it has over 2,000 species of flowers , plants and trees both local and imported from Western countries.
This park is known as the "Little Forest in a Big City" it has a man made river that runs through the whole park winding around under all these beautiful bridges in the shape of a "S" why shaped in a "s" because it's the first letter of HM the Queen's name..Sirikit how beautiful is that.

The one big highlight about this park which i absolutely loved is the variety of species of lotus and water lilies. The water lily pools are shaped in a geometrical shapes and the pools themselves are arranged as petals around a central circular pool all filled with many beautiful colored water lilies.
Here you will see the Siam Ruby Lotus both pink and white varieties and the many varieties of the Victoria Waterlily which are white when it is young and changes to purple at maturity. I just couldn't seem to drag myself away from these pools of waterlilies something about their beauty that i found it hard to stop taking photos of them so here you are enjoy some more....lol.
The park also has a lot of wild life to enjoy the beautiful singing and chirping of Birds , Squirrels running around everywhere and Monitor Lizards coming out of the river to say hello to you.
This Monitor Lizard thought it would come out of the river and have a walk around but when he saw me he did the bolt back to the river but not without me giving him a chase with my camera...haha :)
And this was a union meeting of the Monitor Lizards by the river.
The other thing i noticed around this park was the display of boulders and many of them some looking lovely with beautiful gardens surrounding them and others just sitting around in their natural state.
The other beautiful thing about this park you will see along the trails , benches placed under trees in shady spots with beautiful in gardens surrounding you were you can relax and read a book maybe.
I am not sure what these bed of flowers were maybe another variety of the lily family but they looked so stunning amongst these trees just the perfect spot to sit around read a book or just relax and enjoy the beauty.
These Bird's Eye flowers were enormous never seen them so big i don't know what they were feeding them maybe just very rich soil.
And my favorite flower tree was every where in Park i call this flower tree "The Fire Flower Tree" it has so many flowers on it's tree and they are huge fire flowers.
And @shasta if you think you have seen enough boulders in this post here are some more for you and look at that Banyna Tree growing out of that boulder just amazing them Banyna trees get around...lol.
And to think it's nearly the of this post well almost but i am going to leave you with some more beautiful sacred Water Lilies they are really a work of nature i just love them.
