King Rama IX Park by Night Reflections !!

December 2019 · 4 min read · Bangkok

There is one thing i really enjoy here in Bangkok during the celebrations of Christmas and New Year and that is how the city of Bangkok lights up and shines like one big huge Christmas tree but apart from the city been decorated like one big Christmas tree most of the more popular parks are lit up and decorated as well so tonight i am going to take you for a walk around Rama IX Park.

My main purpose was to get to this park by later afternoon so i could see the park lit up and take some reflection photos i heard it's a park that is nicely decorated because it is a park that was given as a gift to the Rama IX King.

Rama IX Park also referred to as the Suan Luang Rama IX , is a public park in Bangkok's Prawet District. With an area of 500 rai, it is the largest park in the city. The park was built to celebrate King Bhumibol Adulyadej's sixtieth birthday in 1987, and was opened by the King on 1 December that year.

Normally these more popular parks are set up with food vendors and some live entertainment so people can make a night of it as this Rama IX park was which makes it a worthwhile night.

It is quite remarkable in the way they set it all up they certainly cater for everyone whether you like to sit enjoy the food and entertainment or just walk around enjoy the atmosphere and do a little photography.

I love coming to this park whether it is for celebration times or just to get away from the traffic and noise in the Bangkok city area it has a soothing nature and it's one of the biggest green spaces park compared to other public parks in Bangkok.

The sprawling property features some beautiful pavilions, a large lake and expansive gardens, as well as plenty of spots for exercise. In the center of the park stands the golden spiraled Ratchamangkhala Pavilion that looks like a futuristic spaceship. This is actually a gallery full of exhibits and photos pertaining to the Thai royalty.

As i said my intentions of walking around Rama IX park tonight was purely to show you the beauty of this park of a night time and as you can see the thousands of little colored lights is just spectacular wouldn't you say and the reflections of the lake make it extra spectacular.

I couldn't seem to walk myself away from this beauty it reminded me of a runway landing strip so colorful.

They even had a temple set up as we know the Thai's are very Buddhist people and where else with beautiful spiritual surrounding like this would you not pay your respects , pray and wish for your future merits into the New Year.
