Koh Jum Island , Krabi , Thailand.

If you want an authentic taste of Thai island life then Koh Jum, in the region of Krabi is the perfect place for you. It's a tropical bliss is what a friend of my told me who had been there , so this is where i was heading for my Christmas break away from the hustle and bustle of city life packing my bags and flying out.

How to get to this gem paradise well the nearest airport is nearest airport to Koh Jum island is Krabi International Airport once you are at Krabi airport you can take a taxi or bus from the airport which will take you to the ferries to at the Krabi's Klong Jilad Pier the ferries leave several times per day. Tickets for the ferries are available at the pier.

One strong word of advice....There Are No ATMs On Koh Jum – Bring Money otherwise you will be swimming back to the ATM machines back at the airport apart from that the island is very beautiful in nature very peaceful and not to many tourists a perfect get away to relax and enjoy mother nature.

Koh Jum is probably one of the few peaceful islands in Thailand where you can still be completely alone on the beach at times. Let's hope they keep it that way it is nice sometimes to be away from all that loud music party atmosphere it's certainly a great place to clear your inner soul.

Even the cats and the dogs are at peace here so relaxed now that is the life and what a beautiful cat that is.

Of course i am not saying you are completely isolated it is a most beautiful island with a few resorts in mid-range and for pack packers depending on what you prefer i pre-booked at a resort called the Rock View Terrace it was just perfect by the calm sea waters.

The Rock View Resort was not far down from my resort the Rock View Terrace anything seemed to be called after a rock or stone because the island is made up of a lot of beautiful boulders , rocks and stones so it did all makes sense.

The couple of restaurant drinking bars along the beach where very tropical looking indeed with superb atmosphere and views and such great owners full of life and laughter i would be to living on a paradise like this.

My favorite relaxing drinking bar was this bar built on top of this huge rock call the Stone Bar with the best Bob Marley music to smooth you into the most relaxed mind.

The sunsets views from the Stone Bar were just breathtaking while having a cold beer or cocktail.

You can rent motorbikes or scooters if you want to explore the island on your own. There are almost no cars on this island so driving around is fairly easy. If you go further down to the west side of the beach by motorbike you will find the best seafood restaurants as the island is know as a great fishing island you will get the best and the freshest seafood you will ever taste and all restaurants are by the ocean so you can enjoy the great views and sunsets.

I spend 3 nights on this island for me it was the best Christmas ever , every day and night was better then the other , it is certainly a great retreat if you want to clear your head and enjoy some peace and quiet with some lovely people, great food and beautiful nature this is the one place to escape to.
