Koh Samui in Thailand my Paradise Island !!

Koh Samui in Thailand my Paradise Island !!

September 2019 · 6 min read · Surat Thani Province

Koh Samui isThailand’s second largest island it lies in the Gulf of Thailand off the east coast and is known for it's clear crystal blue water beaches and coconut trees along the beach fronts. Koh Samui is all about feeling that smooth white sand between your toes.

There are a number of ways getting to this paradise island we chose to fly from Don Muang Airport with AirAsia to Surat Thani Airport it's just a little over an hour's flight from Bangkok City.

The reason we had decided to take a flight to Surat Thani was for a few reasons you get to see a lot more of Thailand's country side along the way and it's much cheaper then flying direct into Koh Samui Airport. It's a lot more enjoyable if you are not in a hurry.

Once you have landed in Surat Thani Airport you can buy a ticket at any of the many counters in the airport for about $12 US and this includes your one hour bus ride to the pier and the ferry ride which is quite interesting seeing the city and outskirts of Surat Thani Province and when you arrive at the Seatran Pier you hope onto a ferry which takes you across the Gulf of Thailand to Koh Samui Island about a two hour boat ride on this huge comfortable ferry.

Once your boarded the Seatran Ferry enjoy sit back and enjoy the sceneries on your two hour journey across the Gulf of Thailand. The ferry has Wi-fi , Coffee , Snacks and great seating areas to have a snooze if you like.

As we were approaching the island we see this massive cloud formation gathering over the ocean it looked like a tornado heading our way this is expected been monsoon period over here in Thailand at the moment.

I did look quite scary but then all of a sudden some how it disappeared and no rain or force of winds hit us. Getting closer to the island the skies cleared to a beautiful blue sky again.

Once you have reached the other side you can take a mini van for $5 US to your resort destination we had a resort booked over the other side of the island which was less then one hour away from the pier to Chaweng Beach is where we were going.

On the ring road of Koh Samui heading to our resort.

From the time we left Bangkok city which was early morning we had arrived at our resort by early afternoon total of about 8 hours traveling but a very enjoyable trip and saw a lot of Thailand's country side along the way.

The Muang Samui Resort , here we are the staff were so welcoming and friendly they greeted us as if we were long lost friends we were checked in without any fuss and were walked down along these pathways through these beautiful lush green gardens with little streams running through the resort and fish ponds just like walking through a rain forest.

The gardens , pathways , ponds and the flowers were so well manicured and taken care of i have never seen anything so beautiful and vibrant beyond our expectations we were in a true paradise.

It was time to get in our swimmers and head out to that white sand beach which was right out front of our resort after walking through this crazy cave tunnel we were on the beach front absolutely breathtaking views of the surrounding island. It was time for a swim and a couple of cool beers.

By the time we had our swim and a couple of beers the sun was starting to set and it was time for that feed and a couple more cold beers.

Koh Samui has really got these picturesque sunsets and whether you're sun seeking , dozing in a hammock , feasting on world class cuisine, beach partying Koh Samui Island has it all for you.

The night was upon us and of course we were here to party not to sleep and Koh Samui island has certainly a lot to offer as far as night life goes you can simply sit on the beach and watch it all happening in front of you or you can join in , the Ark Bar is one of the most popular beach party spots on the island and that's where we were heading.

The Ark Bar Resort rooms are very popular amongst all the party goers if your in the mood to party all day and all night you stay here.

The night was awesome great music , nice cold beers added with a great atmosphere the vibes were great and it turned out a fun night. The next morning i needed a walk on the beach to cure that hangover luckily the sun wasn't beating down on me it was cloudy , cool just perfect for a walk along the beach.

No i didn't need another beer i was looking for a good black strong coffee or two.

A lot of interesting restaurants and drinking bars along the beach front all with there own unique look.

After walking for about a hour from my resort to the other end of the beach almost i found this pretty cool looking cafe breakfast bar ...yep this will do me had my couple of cups of black coffee and a awesome breakfast.

After that delicious breakfast i decided to walk back along the road just back front the beach front i wanted to observe the day time scenery of Koh Samui island.

This seafood restaurant and Thai food drinking bar were right opposite the Muang Samui Resort where we were staying and i can tell you the seafood was so fresh we ate here one night of our three nights stay in Koh Samui just superb.

It was our last night we were spending on this stunning island so sad but we just wanted to chill out because we had another long journey back to Bangkok city the next morning so we picked a nice quite bar to enjoy our last few cold beers and those picturesque sunsets.

We will certainly miss this paradise island and really not looking forward to going back to Bangkok City but we will return to you Koh Samui it has been the most enjoyable three nights on this island certainly recommend anyone to at least visit this paradise once in your life time you will not be disappointed. Koh Samui is unique among Thailand's islands in maintaining a broad appeal for everyone.

On our way back across the Gulf of Thailand to Surat Thain airport for our flight back to Bangkok city.

Even met a champion fighting Rooster on our way back on the ferry....how cool :)
