Landslides, Floods, Crying Skies - Going Back Home

July 2019 · 3 min read
After some experience in Zamboanga del Sur to meet some relatives, we went back home. We took the southern route this time because who would want to go back to the 14 hour butt torture ride? Not me. And because my stupid ass got rushed to the hospital at dawn because I got blood in my pee and experienced painful urination so we need to go home as quickly as possible. Turns out it was Urinary Tract Infection so drink water and don't hold your pee, folks. :D

We started driving at 6:30 am. It was quite windy with light rain but overall fine.

Then we started seeing some flooded fields somewhere in Sultan Naga Dimaporo. I was like hmm what happened here lol. (Obviously the rain did it ha)

There were light rain and the weather was cold. Then we saw this. Oops, this is gonna get bad.

WTF.

And some impromptu squirt waterfalls lol.

IMG_5749.JPG

We actually witnessed the rocks falling from that side. Like, geez calm down!!!!

:O

IMG_5747.JPG

What's scary about this is that we were in the mountains and we what if we got stuck in there, who would help us lol. There were only a few cars that passed by. And I'm sick. And we don't know the place nor the people.

We got to this part where the road was flooded (above the ankle kinda deep) and you can see people walking with it with no problems lol. There was medium rain and the place was looking grim but the funny thing there was we can see children running and playing in the rain lol.

This was somewhere in Picong.

Then we went through this scary looking tunnel.

IMG_5742.JPG

This reminded me so much of Dying Light (video game where there were zombies and stuff) lol.

IMG_5738.JPG

This reminded me of King Kong and that Green Inferno movie. WHERE THE CANNIBALS AT?

And then we reached Davao City, yay.

IMG_5730.JPG

It says "Drink alcohol. Drive. Accident. Death" and beside that is our city's logo with our tourism/branding/tag line or whatever you call it... "Davao: Life is Here". LOL very funny, mayor. And a clever way to convince people to reduce their speed.
