Are you a Korean drama fan? Because I am! And for almost every big Korean fan, Nami Island is a must-know and a must-see when it comes to South Korea.
And there is no way that I would pass on an opportunity to visit the infamous shooting location of many K-dramas.
I was banking on our trip during early March that we could see it in full bloom because it is famous for its tall tree lines and foliage. However, we were met with cold, foggy weather when we landed. It was the end of winter and the start of spring.
Oh, the cold still bites really hard even when it is not winter anymore. A good change to our usual hot and humid weather in Singapore but our poor chapped lips and dry skin...
But of course, a simple fog cannot and will not stop us from enjoying! And good thing we kept our good moods because the sight that greeted us was far from our expectation. It was so so much more!
The fog in the island complements the whole nature reserve in the area making it look like spring stuck in winter and feels like we are in a drama or a movie set.
Every turn, every path is picturesque! The place is a mix of different settings bound together in one island with the fog that adds to the magic and mystery. So much charm packed in one tiny island.
We separated from the path that everyone is taking and decided on a quick opposite turn and suddenly found ourselves in a pocket space of a different set of view. Yellow wilted grass, green and amber trees and wild squirrels decorate the view. Nature sure is lovely!
And in another attempt to shy away from strangers and in hopes to find more lesser known spots, we see this line of naked trees. A view so breathtaking that photos don't do real justice to it. A view that we never thought that we would see.
We forgot about the biting cold and our growling stomachs for as our eyes are full from taking in the scenery presented in all around.
Who would have thought that the fog actually was a blessing in disguise? We prayed for clear skies but we were given something better to complement the nature.
And this was our honeymoon, BTW. And to see Nami Island like this during our honeymoon definitely takes the cake!
For those who haven't been to Nami Island, I would suggest to go to the paths less taken to appreciate the quiet nature in its raw beauty away from the bustle.
