Does anyone still remember how it feels to be a child? How we are so easily amazed by little things, minds uncluttered with worry and everything seems so simple.
Somehow all these came back to me when I set foot inside the Petite France in Gapyeong, Korea. It is one of the most coveted places to go in Gapyeong along with Namiseom (see our previous travelog about Nami Island☺) and Garden of Morning Calm.
I've never been to France yet, so I cannot guarantee how identical is it to the real thing. But one thing is for sure, it was magical! Walls are covered in colorful pastel paints. There are multiple stairs going upwards, sideways and downwards are leading to many small quirky shops. Charming little details also took my heart... The fairy lights strung above the facade, wrought iron signages, the soothing French songs from The Little Prince soundtrack.
It felt like I was in a fairy tale! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
The heavy influence of The Little Prince in this place definitely won't be missed. I guess this stems from the love of the construction company's CEO, who built the place, for Saint-Exupéry's best selling book.
And somehow true to the European style of living, they showcased the old King Louis XV furniture, country style ladder back chairs, beautiful etageres, and intricate armoires.
It was a feast to my interior designer eyes and also to my long lost dream of living in a fairy tale since I was a child!
