Summer in Provence

January 2023 · 4 min read · France

Hello friends, this is my first post in this community. As I mentioned in my introduction, I received suggestions to share my travels in this section. I am a passionate traveler and I enjoy exploring new places often. I hope to share my travel experiences with you and introduce you to the places I have visited through my stories.

Let me start by saying that I enjoy traveling a lot in Italy, but I also like to go beyond the border. One place I frequent often is the Provence region, especially the Iles d'Hyères archipelago, starting from the port of Giens.

Honestly, I've always loved the sea here. I like the place, even if it's quite expensive, but still I don't come here often. I will share with you the photos I took this summer and I am particularly attached to the island of Porquerolles, because it is the largest of the Iles d'Hyères archipelago. The crystal clear sea, the unspoiled nature and the tranquility of the island really impressed me and I can't help but go back every time I get the chance.

I don't know if anyone from the community here has been to this place before, but the sea here is just the way I like it. The water is turquoise and crystal clear and the beaches are white. From my point of view, this island, even if the comparison is very risky, reminds me a bit of the Caribbean. For those who love crystal clear sea and pristine beaches, the Hyères archipelago is an ideal destination.

It's true, such a beautiful sea can also be found in Italy, for example in the south. Maybe you pay even less for the accommodation and the total cost of the holiday, but I'm not sure. In my opinion, this part of France is very pretty and always has that refined something about it. From my point of view, the beauty of the sea and the refinement of the environment make the Iles d'Hyères archipelago an ideal destination for those looking for a beach holiday

In my opinion, this island is the right compromise for those looking for heavenly beaches and at the same time want to immerse themselves in nature. Fortunately, these places are protected by the French government and can be an ideal destination for those who enjoy hiking in nature. The Iles d'Hyères archipelago offers a unique experience of natural beauty, crystal clear sea and tranquillity, making it an ideal destination for a relaxing holiday surrounded by nature.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons why these places can be considered superior to Southern Italy. Unfortunately in some parts of Southern Italy, nature is not adequately protected and a lot of dirt can also be found, which is particularly annoying for me and many others. The Iles d'Hyères archipelago, on the other hand, is protected and cared for by the French government, offering a clean and unspoilt natural environment for visitors.

The thing that struck me the most the last time I was here was the amount of wild prickly pear cactus plants, a fruit that I really like even if obviously you shouldn't eat too much because they are bad for you. On the island of Porquerolles there are a great many of these wild fruits. Also, I discovered that there are many forts still built in the 16th century, which I had initially mistaken for castles, but are actually just fortifications built at that time. This gave me a greater understanding of the history and importance of the archipelago.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post of mine. I hope I was able to share my passion for this place with you. If you have any suggestions to improve my writing and creation of these posts, I'd be happy to hear them. I look forward to interacting with you and sharing my travel experiences with the community.
