TRAVEL LOG: My Awesome Journey in Luang Prabang, Laos

September 2018 · 4 min read · Luang Prabang

Hey guys! I am back. I know it has been a long time. I decided to focus on getting my life together that is why I had a short vacation from writing. So far, things are just lining up for me and writing will always be one of those things. So that is why I am back with this #travelog of my trip in Luang Prabang. And I've included a video I made! Hope you'll check it out.

Here are my amazing stories I've experienced during my stay in Luang Prabang:

Inday Clara travels Solo #17: Pak Ou Caves-Home to a thousand retired Buddhas

The first place I ventured out in Laos was the famous Pak Ou Caves located 25 kilometers north of Luang Prabang. The cave was dark. There was rather a mystifying feel inside. Indeed, there were thousands of Buddha statues but I was expecting more. They look like they were alive against the yellow-orange light the candles were giving. I was then contemplating where the other Buddhas were for I thought there were thousands of them.

Inday Clara Travels Solo #18: Mount Phousi - The Heart of Luang Prabang

Join me, my friends, as I climb 355 steps going to the top of the famous Mount Phousi in Luang Prabang, Laos. The temples, statues, and the surrounding landscape as you thread along the path definitely makes this place a go-to in Laos.

Inday Clara Travels Solo #19: End the day with this Gorgeous Sunset along Mekong River!

I was torn between watching the sunset at Mount Phousi or along the banks of Mekong River. I chose the latter. And I didn’t regret it. After an enjoyable trek up to Mount Phousi, I headed down to find the perfect spot to watch the sunset in Luang Prabang, Laos. The reason why I chose to watch the sunset along a river was that this was my first time doing so. And not just an ordinary river, its the one and only Mekong River!

Inday Clara Travels Solo #20: My Nightlife in Luang Prabang: 6 Awesome Activities you should try too!

Hello guys! Since I only have a few days in Luang Prabang. I made sure that I would make the most out of the short time I had there. And one thing was to experience the kind of nightlife they have knowing that this place was kind of laid back compared to its neighboring countries. So here are the things I did for my 2 nights in Luang Prabang which actually turn out pretty amazing for a first timer like me.

As the sky started to lit up, men clad in bright orange robes walked barefoot in one single line carrying what seems like a pot where they collect the gifts given by the locals waiting silently along the pavement. I was mesmerized by the sight I witnessed. Buddhist monks of old age lead the group while the young ones followed behind. The devotion of these alms givers was evident. The monks walked past in a meditative silence.

Inday Clara travels Solo #22: Why I had to see the Kuang Si Waterfalls!

The wooden pathway leads to a breathtaking image of the Kuangsi Waterfalls. Tranquil yet powerful on its own. The water cascades against a series of rocks and passes among a few shrubs. Lush vegetation surrounds the place. An empty platform on the left provides a place to sit and enjoy the view and the bridge gives an access for visitors to see its full beauty. I approached a lady and politely ask to take a photo of me. She did without hesitation.

Thank you for tuning in! Check you out tomorrow.
