555 meters above the ground or Seoul both on the palm

September 2018 · 4 min read · Ojeong-gu

How is your weather? In Korea, the weather went crazy. Last week, promised a typhoon, but it was only on the island of Jeju, unfortunately, there were no casualties.

Before Seoul, he did not reach, he ignored it. And we all so waited for him. My colleagues bought their favorite food, set the alarms for a time when the typhoon was about to begin, and he decided not to come to Seoul. There was a light breeze and a weak summer rain.

But since Monday the sky has sharply become covered by clouds, in the morning you rise and already all is gray in a circle. It seems that it is already evening, and you think that the clock may have broken, because they show only 10 in the morning. You go to dinner, and pour like a bucket. The umbrella does not save. The wind is such that it seems, if you are a couple of grams easier, it will take you far, far away.

For 1 hour, I received 3 messages on the phone that soon, probably, there will be a strong wind. Well, I, as the most lucky, fell under the downpour and the wind. I went out the door, broke an umbrella in a second, soaked it up and decided that I still had to come back and wait a bit.

And if it was still cool from such weather, then no. Humidity in Korea is too high. As if in a sauna you live. But it's cold in the rooms. In the offices I freeze, I have to carry warm clothes. In a word, in the premises we have autumn, and in the street an incomprehensible summer.

Remember, I told you about the new skyscraper Lotte? The official name of the skyscraper Lotte World Tower. It was opened not so long ago, on April 3, 2017. And today it is the tallest building in Korea and the 5th tallest in the world. Its height reaches 554.5 meters and consists of 123 floors. on the top floor, on the 123rd floor, there is a restaurant with a beautiful view of the whole city.

But it is not necessary to go to a restaurant to see the whole city, the observation deck is and a couple of floors below, there you can also have coffee, buy a couple of souvenirs and just meet the sunset.

The Lotte Tower consists of 123 floors. 6 basement floors - parking. Then there are 12 floors of exhibition and conference rooms. From 14 to 38 floors Prime offices. From 42 to 71 floors - this is the residence (OMG). From 76 to 101 floors occupies a 6-star hotel. 105 - 114 are private offices. And from the 117th floor, the Seoul Sky viewing platform begins.

The ticket for this tower is not cheap, it costs 27,000 Korean won, which is about 26-27 US dollars. But you can order a ticket through a special application for your phone and receive a discount of $ 3-4. Sometimes there are temporary discounts. For example, if you pay VISA card, discounts for students and so on. And, if you visited the aquarium Lotte and saved a check or ticket, you can also get a discount.

Going up to the 117th floor in groups. Therefore, tickets are sold for a certain time, more precisely for every half hour. For example, at 11 o'clock or at 11:30. If it so happened that the ticket was bought for 6 hours, but came 1-2 hours earlier, you can go to the ticket office and change the ticket.

This tower entered the Guinness Book of Records, thanks to the fastest elevator in the world. In fact, on the 117th floor you can climb literally in a minute with a tail.

On the 117th floor is the highest glass floor in the world, at least we were told so, and we believed :)

Last week in Seoul there should have been a typhoon, then the observation platform was closed for 1 day. And this was announced a week before the typhoon, because the approximate date of the typhoon was known in advance. But the typhoon never came. But this week there was a very strong wind and a shower, so the tower had to be closed urgently.

So, if you want to see Seoul from a height of 555 meters, be sure to climb the Lotte Tower.
