Travel to the world of Korean delicacies. Part 3

Travel to the world of Korean delicacies. Part 3

October 2018 · 4 min read

Good luck Monday Thursday! While writing, the week has almost passed. I feel like a walking journalist.

Time to quietly sit behind a laptop and create a article for a cup of coffee is not enough, so I write on the phone, stomping along the track.

Hope everyone digested lunch and left room for dessert.

In general, as I said, in Korea, every second Korean drinks coffee after a meal. In the summer, it is the ice of the American (American with ice), in the winter, just the American. Yes, most Koreans prefer the American, not the latte or cappuccino coffee.

And teas are a great rarity. In cafes and shops, of course, they sell a variety of teas, but Koreans practically do not order tea in cafes. It is considered too expensive. Although the price of American mugs in Korea is almost the same as the lunch for one person.

If you want sweet after dinner, you will have to move to another cafe, as in Korean restaurants only main dishes are served. All sweets - in coffee shops or bakeries. Well, or you need to go to the buffet, which is here called the "buffet".

Although summer is over, I will start with summer desserts. Or rather, from the famous pinsu (빙수).

Pinsu appeared in Korea about 5 years ago, or rather began the boom pinno. And so, according to history, the pinnacle was still under the Joseon dynasty (about the 14th century), when crushed ice was first added to food. The main ingredient of traditional pins is beans, and the base is crushed ice.

Recently, pincer has become so popular that there are many new types of pins. Fantasy Korean chefs surprising. In Korea, there is even a network of cafe Solbin (설빙) , in which virtually the entire menu is different pins.

As you probably already guessed, I tried all possible pinnacles. Therefore, I will introduce you to each of them. Let's start with the traditional or more precisely with the standard.

As I have already said, the basis of all types of pins is crushed ice. And, by the way, the taste depends largely on how this ice is crushed. In a word, the smaller, the better. Then the dessert itself turns out just so gentle and pleasant.

So, the first pinnacle Incholmi Pince (인절미 빙수) . The basis of this pinu are bean grains. From above everything is sprinkled with chopped soy bean powder. Also added is thoek (rice bread, 떡). Those who love sweets are given a small glass with condensed milk, which you can take as much as you can with your rifill. Usually one serving of pincers lasts for 2-3 people. It costs 7,000 Korean won, or about $ 6.

For those who do not like beans, there is the same pince, but without beans.

My favorite pinnacle is blueberry. It does not contain beans, soy powder or thacho. But it has a lot of blueberries, ice cream and cheesecake slices. And it tastes like sweet and sour pinsu. Its cost is $ 3 higher than the traditional pin-up.

There is also strawberry pincer, in which strawberries are added instead of blueberries.

Do you know Oreon cookies? Black, with cream filling. So, in Korea, something with such cookies is not done. And the cakes, and ice cream, and different drinks, and pins. In the Solbin cafe, I have not tried this pinsu yet, but it looks appetizing. Imagine how many calories there are ...

And, in the summer I like watermelon or melon pinsu. Especially from melons. Watermelon, I still prefer to eat in its pure form, but it's all for lovers. From the melon, the pinsu looks even more interesting. It is made right inside the small melon.

In addition, there is still a pinch of green tea, pinsu of tiramisu, and so on.

And in the cafe itself, in addition to pinch, there are other desserts, coffee, teas and various drinks. But still, people go there more for pinnacles.

Today pins can be found in almost every cafe. And everywhere they are different. Everywhere different prices. In one cafe, I tried the pincu with ice cream and nuts. Also very tasty.

Bon Appetit everyone! The Korean dessert menu does not end there!
