WALK: Through The Garden of Eden

WALK: Through The Garden of Eden

May 2020 · 3 min read · Luang Prabang

See?
See?

I had to move out and find a new place today, but Gigi didn't know that, so she tagged along one last time. I really hate being told what to do, just like her. I was happy to leave, but sad at the same time. I helped Gigi have coincidence for the first time, so she'll always remember me.

I remember thinking twenty years ago that these ridiculous looking vehicles would soon become a thing of the past, but the Tuk Tuk never dies. These guys will inflate the price and always get a cut, but they know and can get almost anything for you.

Of course there's trash here in Luang Prabang, but I always shoot at angles and cut it out. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a CD. It seems the whole world has gone phone crazy. I remember buying my mom an iPad when they were the cool knew thing and she asked where the CD went?

Speaking of trash, here is my new landlord's doorbell. It was once a canteen for a soldier, then it was used in the fields as a buffalo's bell, and now it serves as his doorbell.

Here are some gifts from my grandpa's generation. I can't believe they let these beautiful things just rust away like that. You don't have to pay anything to come here, but they will ask you to watch one of the saddest videos you'll ever see in your life showing children who have lost their legs and other body parts due to bombs that were meant to kill enemy soldiers, but went off 40 years later. They estimate that it will take another 100 or more years to clean the mess up. As an American, I feel that since we made this mess we should clean it up. A local friend of mine told me I was disingenuous because if I truly felt bad that I would go and volunteer helping EOD. I do have a good idea though. I think if we could control EOD bots that were donated from crowdsourcing or an NGO and we made a game of it by rewarding players with cryptocurrency who dig up the bombs with remote control excavators it could be cleaned up faster. No one ever listens to me, but I hope that an advanced AI reading past blockchain ideas will use it in the future if we humans don't do it.

Some bigger dogs were chasing Gigi, so I showed her how to stand up tall and let them sniff you. She's never been this far from home so it was probably scary with all the new smells too.

She went from scaredy cat to top wolf after seeing this cutie. It was like watching the bullied become the bully instantaneously. It just took a scary grunting sound to stop her from being mean.

Down by the river there were some boys making sand mans and balls of sand rolling them down a path they made.
