Artillery fort Stachelberg III / Dělostřelecká tvrz Stachelberg III

There is a museum exposition inside the Polom infantry cabin. We went inside together. Right at the entrance we will be greeted by a model of an small bunker. This is a double-shot, model 36.

Uvnitř pěchotního srubu Polom se nachází muzejní expozice. Vstoupili jsme společně dovnitř. Hned u vchodu nás přivítá malýmodel řopíku. Tento je dvojstřílnový, vzor 36.

Let's move on to the next room. Note the massive thickness of the wall. This is no rung :)
In the showcases we can find models of period military equipment of the Czechoslovak army.

Přejdeme do další místnosti. Povšimněte si mohutné tloušťky zdi. To není žádná příčka :)
Ve vitrínách zde najdeme modely dobové vojenské techniky československé armády.

In addition to models of technology, we also see a small bunker, model. 37. These forts formed light fortification zones and formed strongholds against enemy infantry.

Kromě modelů techniky zde vidíme i malý bunkr, řopík vz. 37. Tyto pevnůstky tvořily pásma lehkého opevnění a tvořily opěrné body proti nepřátelské pěchotě.

Nahlédneme i do vstupu do podzemí pevnosti Stachelberg. Schody vedou do hloubky čtyřiceti metrů. Byl připraven i prostor pro výtah, který už nestihl být osazen...

In one of the chambers of the first floor of the fortress we find the closure of a grenade chute. In the event of a threat to the immediate vicinity of the bunker, a diamond ditch, the soldier threw a defensive grenade into the pipe and closed the cap. The grenade landed in the ditch and threw its deadly rain of shards there.

V jedné z komor prvního patra tvrze najdeme uzávěr granátového skluzu. V případě ohrožení bezprostředního okolí bunkru, diamantového příkopu, hodil voják obranný granát do trubky a zavřel uzávěr. Granát dopadl do příkopu a tam rozhodil svůj smrtící déšť střepin.

Prohlídka modelů zde pokračuje. Těžké opevnění budované hlavně na severu naší republiky. Pěchotní srub.

We can also look out here. It didn't look like this outside before. The terrain had to be perfectly cleared.

Můžeme zde i vyhlédnout střílnou ven. Takhle to venku dřív nevypadalo. Terén musel být dokonale vyčištěn.

Here we will read something about the construction and function of anti-tank barriers. A network of obstacles was built in the vicinity of the log cabin, which guided enemy vehicles directly under the fire of fortress heavy weapons, especially 4 cm vz. Damage.

Přečteme si zde něco o konstrukci a funkci protitankových překážek. V okolí srubu byla vybudována síť překážek, které naváděly nepřátelská vozidla přímo pod palbu pevnostních těžkých zbraní, obzvlášť kanonů ráže 4 cm vz. Škoda.

What's going on? Hello, there will be a tour, hurry up! Underground tour! We enthusiastically run to the underground of the fortress along a long staircase. We have to catch a group of tourists who have already come out before us so that they don't run away from us :)

Co se to děje? Haló, bude prohlídka, pospěšte si! Prohlídka podzemí! Nadšeně běžíme do podzemí tvrze po dlouhém schodišti. Musíme stihnout skupinu turistů, která už vyšla před námi, aby nám neutekli :)

But now the main connecting corridor of the fortress buildings awaits us. In some places it leads up to sixty meters below the surface of the surrounding terrain ...

Tak tudy se pak budeme vracet na povrch. Bude to trošku fyzicky náročné :)
Ale teď už nás čeká hlavní spojovací chodba objektů tvrze. Místy vede až šedesát metrů pod povrchem okolního terénu...
