Urbex in Yangon's Abandoned Amusement Park: Part 3

October 2018 · 2 min read · Yangon

I have shown you some rides in the amusement park in the previous post of this short series about the abandoned amusement park in Yangon already, but in this third and last part I want to point out another interesting place: The abandoned arcade hall. If you happen to be in Yangon on Halloween, this is the place to go!

Filled with defunct arcade machines, the arcade hall is also home to smaller rides for children.

This scary figures seem like straight out of a horror film:

If you want to visit the abandoned amusement park yourself, don't worry: Contrary to other abandoned places, there are no security guards and no signs forbidding trespassing - in fact, the site has become somewhat popular with tourists recently and I even met two other backpackers while exploring the overgrown rides.

To get to the abandoned amusement park, head to the spot marked on the Steemitworldmap. I took a Grab taxi there from my hostel for free using one of the many promotional offers that Grab has in Myanmar currently, but it is also possible to walk there from the city centre, although the last hundred metres are not particularly exciting for a stroll. When you get to the spot marked on the map, you will see the opened gate from the photo above. Walk in and wave back at the friendly bus drivers:

Don't Forget: Get Travel Health Insurance!

At the back of the bus parking lot, you will find a hole in the fence.

Go through it.. And welcome to the wonderland!
