Genting Sky Avenue & First World Hotel

August 2018 · 2 min read · Pahang

Genting Highlands latest attraction is the revamped Sky Avenue shopping and dining complex that is connected with the cable car station and First World Hotel. The four storey mall has over a hundred dining and shopping options that cater to the young and old.

Sky Avenue

The area biggest eye catcher is the huge LED displays that spreads across the whole atrium with free spectacular hourly shows known as the SkySymphony.

Besides local delights like Din Tai Fung and Mdm Kwan, there are also international food choices Pizzeria and Burger & Lobsters. This was in stark contrast to few years back, when food in Genting are notorious for being expensive and tasteless.

Second and third floor of the Sky Avenue is lined with luxury brand shops and some mid tier retail offering, like Swarovski, adidas, L’Occitane, Samsung and Timberland.

The fourth floor offers more food choices like the Malaysia street food court. A huge play center can also be found here for families and young children to spend time. We spent a whole day at the Alive Museum, Jurassic Research park, and the indoor playground.

DC Comic Superhero Cafe

We had lunch at the newly opened DC Comic Super Hero cafe and ordered a Batman and Superman set. The whole cafe is covered with superheroes wall paper in comic style. It was past lunch time and we had the whole place to ourselves. Spent the time taking photos and slowly enjoying the delicious meal.

First World Hotel

The First World Hotel in Genting Highlands was once the biggest hotel in the world. We usually get the rooms for free or exchange using some Genting Points. But the rooms are small, under furnished, and smell. We will probably book another hotel for our next visit.

More wall art around the hotel for kids to pose with.

A nice Unkai or sea of clouds when viewed from the Hotel at 20th storey. During a clear night sky, you can even see the Petronas Twin Tower in Kuala Lumpur from here.
