Nagashima Resort in Nagoya - Nagashima Spaland Amusement Park

August 2018 · 3 min read · Aichi Prefecture

The Nagashima Spaland and Resort and located just outside of Nagoya city area is a huge visitor's attraction suitable for everyone. Consisting of 5 major facilities;

  1. Nagashima Spaland Theme Park
  2. Nagashima Water Park
  3. Mitsui Outlet
  4. Nagashima Hot Spring Spa
  5. Nabana No Sato Flower Park
On this day, we only had time to visit the themepark, hotspring spa, and the shopping outlet.

Nagashima Spaland Theme Park

The Nagashima Spaland themepark is one of the biggest of its kind in western Japan and features more than 40 rides that are suitable for all ages. Queues were relatively long with the popular ones taking at least an hour. We tried the thrilling rides like the Ultra Twister and Corkscrew.

Nagashima Spa Land themepark isn't too well known among international visitors and we noticed majority of visitors are Japanese. The park is huge but spacious and we found it a joy to just walk around in the cooling weather.

There are many smaller rides that kids and families can enjoy as well.

We paid for the 2100yen admission-only ticket and separately paid around 500-1000 yen for each ride, as we did not have the time to queue and try every ride.

Nagashima Spa Yuami no Shima

As night falls, we went to the Yuami no Shima Hot Spring facility just beside the theme park. This was a really nice spa outlet that has many indoor and outdoor baths. The outdoor baths were set in man-made nature style and features at least 3 big baths that was really enjoyable in the cool night. Perfect for the tired body after spending time at the themepark and shopping outlet.

Admission to the Yuami no Shima Hot Spring was included in the theme park ticket that we bought earlier.

Mitsui Outlet Park Jazz Dream Nagashima

The Mitsui Outlet is the largest outlet mall in Japan and is relatively crowded due to the spill over from the theme park. I had such a great time shopping while R enjoys the theme park. Many international and domestic brands can be found here. Recommended to spend some time shopping after themepark and hot spring.

Other than these 3 attractions that we visited, there is also a Nabana no Sato flower park in the area and is apparently one of the best flower park in all of Japan. It even won some accolades from tripadvisor last year.

Near the entrance of the themepark is a Anpanman Museum. Not quite known outside of Japan, but Anpanman is hugely popular among Japanese kids. Do give it a visit if you have the time and your kids know Anpanman.

Nagashima Spaland is really a recommended attraction where you can expect to spend a whole day at. Just a 1 hour train ride from Nagoya city, it is very accessible if you are in central Japan.
