I can not help being carried away by a warm sensation of romantic daydream when I remember my brief, but at the same time intense stay in Roncesvalles and its surroundings.

Burguete is a small village that, located at the narrow distance of one kilometer, was born to the side of the religious community, the hostel, the hospital and the hundreds of pilgrims who, coming from beyond the Pyrenees, found a place to rest the fatigue and advance with hope and illusion in direction, I suppose, at the end of a universal Myth, following the most transcendental of the adventures: the own one.

The Carolingian style of its houses, with pointed roofs and needles pointing to the sun, manages to convey the curious effect that time, if not fate - as that young Adamo sang - seems to have stopped, to the point that one has the impression of see Gretel or Hamsel leave that centennial mansion covered with vines, like the enchanted palace of Sleeping Beauty, located on the main street.

And behind them, a flock of singing singles.

The bundles of firewood, stacked in the corners of the houses; the clothes hanging on the balcony, warm from the afternoon sun and slightly rocked like banners of peace by the gentle breeze; the first poppies sprouting from a soft mattress of tempting emeralds; the pilgrims who follow the path of the horizon, recovered from the difficult tests of the port of Ibañeta; the tractor parked in the doorway of the hall, respecting mohen the holiday.

And above all, the Color; Burguete is a town where Color is an elemental Spirit that wastes energy through the four corners.

Yes, what a great feeling of peace, what intense emotion seized me walking through its streets !.
Memories of a pilgrim, written in Madrid, but dreamed in Burguete on a Sunday in April a few years ago.
