Corona Virus situation in Thailand March 2020

March 2020 · 2 min read · Phitsanulok Province

Like all global citizens learning about Covid 19 we try to protect ourselves and our families using best medical practices that we have been told. However, in many countries we see that masks and hand sanitizers are not easy to find.

In Thailand, and I am sure other countries, we do our best to use the tools that we have to make a mask using cloth, sewing machine and more.

You need to think about the size of the mask you want to make for you or your child and make the correct measurements. Use enough material so that it will filter as you speak. Masks are used so that the mask wearer is not breathing on other people and transmitting the virus unknowingly.

Put the elastic in the mask so that you can wear it behind your ears and make sure you measure first.

A simple mask can be made and washed or exposed to sunlight for long time time kill the germs so you may want to make several masks for each person.

Of course washing your hands with soap or using a hand sanitizer is important for not spreading germs when you touch your face. It’s easy to get the virus from a surface on your hand and then we touch our eyes or mouth area. Having good clean hands is important.

Thank you so much for reading. I am sure many of you are doing the same to keep your family safe. It’s the simple things that go a long way and you don’t have to have big money to protect yourself. Be smart about where you go and distance from people is as important as all of the above. Be safe !
