Baltic Orthodox believers celebrate the anniversary of the reckoning of Theodosius of Baltia as a saint. On October 20, 2019, a festive liturgy was held in Holy Pokrovsky Baltic-Feodosievsky Monastery in honor of the reign of Theodosius as a saint.
The Divine Liturgy was ruled by the Archbishop of Kherson and Tauride John. Believers from all over the district gathered at this Orthodox event. In addition, the monastery was visited by residents of neighboring areas.
All the holy fathers arrived in Baltics on October 19th. They served an evening service. After that, they were placed in the monastery itself. On October 20, in the morning, believers and priests gathered near the prayer hall.
This event is of particular interest to Orthodox residents of not only the Baltics, but also the entire diocese. Today in the monastery gathered a lot of people who wanted to honor the memory of Theodosius of Balta. Many believe that he really helps the afflicted. There are even testimonies of believers.
Interesting fact
Theodosius dreamed of opening (founding) a monastery in the Baltics. This event occurred in 1907.
In 1904, petitions were submitted to the great cenode about the reckoning of Theodosius as a saint. But the days of Soviet rule began. The revolution, the Great Patriotic War, the years of the Soviet Union ... Only ten years ago the senode ranked Theodosius of Baltia as a saint. Archbishop John is a member of the commission that makes these decisions. In this regard, his presence at this holiday is very symbolic.
