Hello Steemians
Here are some shots of my trip to Cuba.
We stayed in a small town, called Trinidad, about 90 min
from Havana.
Not very developed, it only had a few large hotels, and all the
amenities you might want while on holiday, but small and non
commercial enough to enjoy the culture and experience everyday
Cuban life.
The biggest attraction to Cuba would be the beaches. This....

is the beach next to our hotel.
There were more locals then tourists, and nobody
bothering you trying to sell you something.
One day we booked a catamaran excursion, it sailed to....

a reef where we went snorkeling, and saw hundreds of fish, and
amazing coral. It then stopped at an island .....

were they served us lobster.
Another day was spent exploring the town.
Cobblestone streets were common, and old model cars
were everywhere as well.

Downtown is the Plaza Mayor, it is a UNESCO Heritage
site and in the 18, and 19th centuries was a major hub
of commerce, due to the slave trade and sugar trade.
The town has been economically depressed since, but .....

tourism is aiding the economy.
Another day was spent hiking through the jungle, to a waterfall
and a swimming spot.

The sunset cruise was a highlight of the trip, since we
were the only ones who had booked it, the crew seemed very relaxed
as we sailed around, and we all jumped in for a swim.
They then approached a small fishing boat, similar to this ...

one and purchased a few....you guessed it, lobster again and
we had a big feast, along with a lot of rum.
The sun sets much faster closer to the equator then we are
use to in the north.
It was a terrific sunset, and we arrived back in the dark.

The hotel was terrific, modern and excellent staff, and very
well kept, all in all it was....
a great place for a vacation.
