Just stumble upon this restaurant while browsing through a spot to have a family dinner in Taman Equine. @enjiliew and I are hunting for a new place to stay around the area and finally decided to move over to that area. Well back to the restaurant whereby it is kinda hidden in that area with different f&b outlets (found that there are quite a number of Chinese restaurants and shops around, perhaps Chinese love this area). Her family came to visit and we all love the food (just slightly heavier in taste compared to local cuisine, well that is Chinese food afterall).
Well decorated interiors
Wall paper showing tips to make good porridge
The whole place was decorated in a way that it feels like walking into a China village and the waitress were definitely not local as they speak Hakka slang chinese. We ordered 5 dishes with white rice and also Pu Er tea. All of the dishes we ordered in smallest portion, which without much surprise, the portion is definitely "Chinese style" small. Luckily, it was just nice for us and we didn't get ourselves too bloated.
Old cucumber soup, definitely filled with strong flavor!
Pork rib with special sauce
Yam with stir friend chicken, topped with crispy cashews <3
Stir fried kailan with white wine
Minced pork flooded with special sauce on bitter gourd, the combination was good
We had one soup which was the old cucumber soup, a bittergourd with minced pork, yam with chicken, stir fried kailan and also pork ribs. All of the dishes tasted authentically Chinese and we enjoyed ourselves. We could see the place were also quite crowded as people love to sit outside to enjoy the meal. The price for the food was also reasonable with the portion. Five of us ate around 150 MYR meal which was like 30 bucks per pax. Not bad right for Chinese style cuisine which you hardly can get that price range.
I also found that the Hakkan owner here also had some cuisine which adapts to local culture. Next time would come over to have a taste again for other dishes. They are definitely good as it stimulate my taste bud. It is good to have tea along with the dishes as it cleansed my taste bud for the next dish.
