What do you HAVE TO see in DUBAI?

October 2018 · 8 min read · Dubai

✌️I invite you to read the second part of the travels to the United Arab Emirates. This time I have prepared for you a few places that you must necessarily visit while in Dubai!

As I promised you in the previous entry, I will try to briefly present places without a visit that you can not say that you were in Dubai :) It's a kind of "must see" this place.

Ready, steady, go!

BURJ KHALIFA

ROAD TO BURJ KHALIFA:

Well. This building, which can not be overlooked while in Dubai - is the highest building in the world, measuring 829 meters. It will remain at least until 2021, when the completion of works on the Dubai Creek Tower is planned (the exact height is kept secret, it is estimated that it will be even 1,300 meters). It was opened not too long ago, because in 2010.

Architectural and engineering masterpiece. Standing under it or on one of the top floors, you realize how amazing the building is. In the evenings, the building changes the colors during the performance of the fountains. It looks fabulous!

To get to the viewing terraces you need to buy a ticket, which you can buy only 30 days in advance. It is, however, worth it to buy - often specific hours are so crowded that there are no more places.

124 + 125 storeys cost 135 AED. 124 + 125 and the highest 148 floor is the cost of AED 370.

The package with a discount can be purchased an additional attraction, such as the entry to the Dubai Aquarium, which is located in Dubai Mall - gallery in the vicinity of the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Fountain Boardwalk - entry to the platform closest to the fountains.

Personally, I've bought access to the platform, but this is nothing else that I would not see without this ticket, except that it is closer.

Interestingly - the trip to the 124th floor takes just over a minute. Elevators are moving at a speed of about 9 m/s, which is an amazing speed in itself.

The trip up and down passes in a calm atmosphere. During the passage, the curiosities about the building are presented in a nutshell.

The views are unearthly on the spot. I definitely preferred to go to the terraces in the evening.

There are several photographers on the terraces who take pictures of us. We receive from them tickets, with which we can go to the point of purchase. Unfortunately, the session prices disappointed me a lot. One photo costs 280 AED, the mini album costs AED 200.

On the spot, of course, you can not miss stores with various souvenirs. As usually happens in such places, prices are quite excessive.

DUBAI FOUNTAIN

Dubai would not be itself if it did not have everything THE BEST. It is no different in the case of Dubai Fountain - the world's largest fountain system in choreography.

It is located just off the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall.

The fountain can spray in the air at any time 83,000 liters (!) ff water. Over 6600 lights and 25 color projectors make the show a fantastic spectacle that is hard to forget.

IMG_20180923_220239.jpg

The fountain is animated with performances focused on light and music. Performances take place at 13:00 and 13:30 and every 30 minutes between 18 and 22 on weekdays and from 18 to 23 on weekends (on weekends it is Thursday, Friday and Saturday). Streams of light are visible from over 30 km (!).

It is worth to choose and see the shows during the day and in the evening. In my opinion, evening shows make a much better impression.

You can go gondola on the lake and buy a separate boardwalk ticket.

DUBAI MARINA

Dubai Marina is one of the districts of Dubai. There are super high residential towers here. Among the thicket of apartments is also a marina for exclusive yachts.

This is a very prestigious district. And one of the greener ones. There are golf courses nearby.

Dubai Marina has a long promenade - The Walk, as well as one of the most famous beaches - JBR. The water on this beach is extremely calm which encourages tourists to visit.

The beach is right by the skyscrapers, which gives a great impression when bathing!

In the vicinity of the Marina there is another attraction - the Palm Jumeirah. I had a great desire to jump with a parachute and admire it from above, which effectively discouraged me the price - around 1200 AED.

BURJ AL-ARAB

The most luxurious and prestigious hotel in the world. At the same time one of the most characteristic places in Dubai. The most luxurious apartments have elements of equipment made of gold. The smallest area is 169 and the largest 780 square meters! In the middle is a several-storey aquarium with a live coral reef.

DSC_0563.jpg

For one guest there are 6 people from the service. All the facilities that you can imagine are available. The butler is available 24 hours a day. Finally, prices per night start at $1,600...

Burj al Arab is visible from many points of the city due to its size.

Unfortunately, you can not go up to the entrance if you are not a hotel guest. The entrance is closely guarded by security.

Panorama from the Jumeirah beach is one of the most beautiful that I managed to do. The view is breathtaking.

DUBAI MALL & MALL OF THE EMIRATES

If you have seen large shopping centers before in Dubai, forget about them. They do not even grow up to heal.

DSC_0862.jpg

Dubai Mall because of the location is difficult to get around. Usually, people going towards Burj Khalifa pass through part of it. It is not enough that a corridor leads to it, which goes about 6-7 minutes, it is the largest shopping center in terms of area - 112.4 ha. Over 1 100,000 square meters. GIANT!

DSC_0138.jpg

DSC_0171.jpg

And inside? Luxury. Over 1,200 stores, well over a hundred cafes and restaurants. Toilets like in 5* hotels. Wealth. Exhibitions of the most famous brands in the world.

DSC_0174.jpg

There is also Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo with 10 million liters of water. It reaches three floors.

IMG_20180923_213117.jpg

What if I told you that you can go skiing at the Mall of the Emirates? Yes. Skiing. :D 40 degrees outside, and snow inside...
Ski Dubai is equipped with a year-round lift for skiers and snowboarders - it has two T-bar lifts and a four-seater chair lift. There is also an ice rink, an ice cave, a ski school...

IMG_20180923_233922.jpg

And if you were not enough, penguins dredge several times a day. ;)

This is madness, I can not call it otherwise!

IMG_20180923_233911.jpg

IMG_20180923_233917.jpg

It's worth going here. For example, for small shopping it is a hypermarket.

SAFARI

Everyone who comes to Dubai should go to the desert!

Cost: 200 AED. Everything is included.

The trip takes place around 15.00. The car drives up to the hotel, everyone is getting inside and they are on the road. The first stop is a collection stop. In one place, all participants of the safari meet. Probably also for security reasons - cars do not drive alone. Usually in a 4-5 car column. There are cases of burial of vehicles, so there is always someone to help.

IMG_20180928_165721.jpg

IMG_20180928_165542.jpg

I found a crazy (but very nice) driver. On the way to safari (and it travels about 30 km from the city) he told the participants of the trip - I will dream about you tonight. In the evening, when you close your eyes, you will see me.

At first, probably no one took his words seriously. But it turned out that he was right...

The car sped through the desert mountains to the rhythm of crazy music. Passengers only bounced off the ceiling... The driver was actually crazy.

CHECK MY VIDEO FOOTAGE:

At the first desert staging, souvenir photos, wakeboarding on the sand. The car is swaying from side to side, it is coming up to steep ups and going down faster. And only sand around. Beautiful feeling!

IMG_20180928_171911.jpg

In Dubai, it gets dark quite quickly so we have time to take photos at sunset.

IMG_20180928_175459.jpg

But that's not all that was waiting for us...

After the safari, the participants of the trip are taken to the oasis. At the beginning - various treats, water and soft drinks.

It's best to take the place as close to the stage as possible, to see everything well. In the meantime, you can order shisha, make yourself a henna tattoo, ride a camel.

Before the main part of the evening, the first refreshment begins.

IMG_20180928_192058.jpg

The first artist enters the stage - this part is a show for women.

IMG_20180928_194325.jpg

It looks interesting. ;)
