Skiing a Winter Sport

February 2020 · 3 min read · Punjab

In winter season there is snow ever where and people prefer to stay inside. You can see a white layer of snow. It is a very beautiful experience to enjoy snowfall. On this snowy atmosphere I planned a visit to Kalabagh, a hill station and resort. It is a very beautiful place. It is under the supervision of PAF so it is neat and clean. Over all path ways and walking tracks are uncover.

It is a pleasant experience that you visit some hill station and snow fall start at the same time. During snowfall you forget every thing and try to enjoy this. So I also started hiking and did some walk in snow. All the things were covered with snow. Its very important to remove snow from rooftops to avoid some mishap.

In winter you can enjoy many things. At Kalabagh hill station a world class ski facility has been provided. On this venue they organize many local ski sports events. When I visited this place, Pakistan's women ski team was there for practice. As this ski slope is small so they use this place for practice or for family fun activity. National ski events are organised on bigger slopes like Malam Jabba and Nalter.

Ski is a very tough sport. For this sport you require balance and control. Many families were also there and small children were also taking some basic lessons of ski. I also met some of Pakistan's top ski players who were also there for practice. Some local boys were also doing ski and its very good initiative to train the local boys. Local people are used to these harsh weather conditions and also have good stamina.

In the freezing temperature I could not find any wildlife. But soon I spotted some monkeys. These monkeys were taking shelter under some shed. They were also trying to find some food and best place is near human habitat. But I was surprised to see that they have well adopted this cold environment.
