Dimitrovgrad is a small town in Southern Bulgaria established 72 years ago under the decree of the leader of the Communist Party and prime minister then Georgi Dimitrov. The town is named after, surprise, surprise, himself, his family name! It has been build for about 3 three years in the period 1948-1950 by 50 thousand builders most of which remained there as Dimitrovgrad was declared a techno-town. ;)

Currently in the town live approximately 30 thousand people and the architecture is the so called "Stalin" style but today I am not going to show or tell you more about this interesting town but share with you a night I spent there in a cozy small club called "Club of the Figures of Culture".

However, I want to mention that Dimitrovgrad is very close to the place I currently live so I promise to write another post to show you the most beautiful and interesting places in the town. Or at least those that impress me a lot ;)

So it is time we jump to that great night of warm moods, spent in the company of amazing musicians.

The name of their band is "Acoustic Jazz Trio from Dimitrovgrad" but believe me when I tell you can never see only three of them as they have so many friends and their stage is always full!

Enjoy below few photos I made while listening to their covers and original songs and instrumentals. I always enjoy their improvisations.

The light was minimal, "muffled" like we say sometimes. So pardon the noise and the poor quality. Yup, sometimes even pro level cameras won't do the job ;)

This chap with the hoodie and the slide-trombone is a friend and a great guitar player too, we used to play in a rock band together when we were at high school, another town, another century, another millennium...

The "core" of the band is the pianist, the drummer and the guitar player. The singer has a very specific and lovely voice and she knows so many songs...

You can tell I enjoyed taking those photos, right?

Just a quick side note, the kitchen at that cozy place is great and cheap, offering both Bulgarian and Italian dishes, and my new favorite dessert - Pangiallo. It is not as Italians do it but is soooo delicious ;) But let's not spoil the musical side of this story with food, LOL :)

If you happen to be in the area, you have to plan to listen to them, you won't regret that. I have listened to their music more than ten times and they always manage to impress me.

Meanwhile, while you do that, I will be working on my next story about the young town of Dimitrovgrad.
