Chillin out at a rooftop bar in KL Malaysia 吉隆坡夜景超讚

July 2018 · 3 min read · Kuala Lumpur

I'm currently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on a short break and have been wandering around town for the past two days, meeting with friends and just chilling out in general.

Today I want to take you to see the rooftop bar and swimming pool at my hotel. I can't swim and am well past my prime (don't think I ever have one to be honest) for bikini shots, so I'm just going to stick with the breathtaking rooftop views.

PRE DINNER VIEW

The hotel I'm staying at is called Red by Sirocco. You don't need to be a resident to visit the rooftop bar, it's open to the public. If you're ever in town, its a great place to chill out. In fact, last night I went twice. Once before dinner time and then after dinner later on.

The air quality in KL is a bit worse than I had expected and the sky was rather hazy. Still that didn't dampen my mood, as the view us still as breathtaking, especially with a glimpse of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, and the KL Tower in the background.

Here's the other side of the building. As you can see, sadly the sky isn't exactly very clear.

POST DINNER CHILLOUT

After dinner I decided to go back up again to check out the night view. It was still early, there weren't that many people there, and I managed to nab the lover seat. It was great to chillax for the evening!

The pool was lit up in red lights, there was a live band playing soft music, and the two iconic structures on the left and right seemed like they were vying with one another for people's attention. I only had my mobile phone with me, but I think the photos came out ok.

I quite like this one of the Twin Towers. Most of the structure is obscured by the building in front and as you look down, suddenly you see its reflection in the red pool. The column of yellow lights and straight line on the right are from the other buildings, and gives a nice mixture of abstract lights in the dark.

Petronas Twin Tower, KL

The KL Tower is on the right hand side from my lover seat. It did a great job all night long constantly changing colours as if it was dancing. I took a video but the quality isn't very good in the dark, so I'm just going to share its normal view. Simplicity is the best.

And finally, here's the bar behind me. Its also lit up in red. I think the overall setup and view of this rooftop bar is brilliant to chill out for the night. That's something I seem to have been lacking in recent years. What a fantastic change to be in front of breathtaking night scenery instead of the TV or computer for once in a while.
