After a few days enjoying the beach life at Koh Lanta and my adventurous dive at Koh Haa @martibis and I decided to come along with Fie to Bangkok, because she already had to fly home to Denmark.
Fie and I would take the boat to Railay Beach, enjoy the day there and later at night take a plane to Bangkok while @martibis wanted to hitchhike all the way up.
He had a fair chance to beat us, because our flight wouldn't leave before 21:00 and we still had one hour drive from the airport to the city center. I guessed that at best we would meet around 23:00 at Kao San Road to have dinner together! - The looser had to buy the beers.
So we had a nice breakfast together in the morning and split up at the harbour to go ahead and see who would be faster.
Fie and I took the ferry to Krabi first and made ourselves comfortable between all the bags, enjoying the sun and getting some sleep on our 3 hour boat trip.
It was a wonderful sunny day and the water was super clear and blue. I just love to be on a boat ;) Also it was the first time that I saw how people jumped off and on this little ferry coming with smaller boats, while our boat was still moving, in order to get out on there stops.
Once we got to Krabi Harbour we switched our boat and went to a super small one to drive another 30 min and reach Railay Beach.
While we were almost arriving at our first stop, @martibis sent us some updates on his position. He was moving forward really fast, as many people in Thailand are heading to the capital of the country. - And most of them earn Pick ups ;)
The closer we got to the Island the more beautiful the water and landscape was!!
Getting to the Island I was so happy that I chose to be part of the Beach & Plane team!! Railay Beach is the most beautiful place I had seen so far in Thailand!! I just loved it there.
So we searched a nice spot on the other side of the Island, had lunch and enjoyed the day on this marvelous site.
Of course we also took the time to jump into the water and lie for a bit at the sand.
A bit later we had to take the last boat to Krabi in order to be able to fly the same night. The water was going back already so we had to walk a bit with our backpacks towards the boat. Adventure style of course ;)
Once we got in the boat we drove really fast to the other side of Krabi, just in time to see the beautiful sunset from the beach.
While we still enjoyed the high life, enjoying and celebrating our perfect day with a pizza, we got a new update on @martibis status.
He sent us a great pic with some local truck drivers that apparently would take him all the way up to Bangkok. He was really good in time and maybe would even be able to beat us after all.
So we found a taxi and got to the airport asap to get ready for our flight.
We arrived in Bangkok in time and went as fast as possible to Kao San Road, the spot we had our hotel at. We knew that @martibis was also already in the city so now it would be just a matter of minutes to see who would win the race ;)
In fact we arrived almost at the same time. Fie and I had just ordered the Pad Thai when @martibis showed up and joined us for dinner ;) Perfect timing!
