Art is Life

Sao Miguel, one of the nine Azorean islands in the Atlantic Ocean, has been attracting more and more visitors for years now. This island is characterized by nature, cows, waterfalls, volcanoes and meanwhile art.

Over the time, Ponta Delgada, the capital of Sao Miguel, has been transformed into a true city of street art by the Walk & Talk event. Everywhere you can see graffiti, pictures and monuments. Every year this special art event offers an international audience unusual and creative artwork.

Since 2011 the "Walk&Talk" takes place here, a two-week event in the name of art, in 2014 these two heads were finally created.
They look like graffiti at first glance, but if you look at them for a while you will notice that their faces have been carved and hammered.

2014 was the year of its creation and the celebrated street artist Alexandre Farto and the up-and-coming Madrid architect and designer Marlon de Azambuja joined forces to create this work of art.

As far as I can remember, this building was once a bar, pup or club. However, it closed some time ago and now you can marvel at the facade art.
It's an outstanding artwork in my opinion and I wanted to share this with this lovely community. Hope you like it too.

I discovered this piece of creativity when I was on my way at the Harbour. I went along there, saw the military base and museum and after this (have patient) the street down on the right side this beautiful art was there. I hold on for 20 minutes to watch at it. Awesome, just awesome work. My full respect to such great art.

Art is Life
