A few impressions of Sao Miguel Island
Sao Miguel is one of the nine islands of the Azores and one of the most famous.
In the capital Ponta Delgada is mostly tourism and lifestyle, which is meanwhile (thanks to Covid-19) death but I hope that more people come here soon to visit this beautiful island and hopefully my friends get their jobs back.
Here are some impressions of Ponta Delgada, the harbour and the surrounding area.
Because many of you cannot travel the next time, it's maybe nice at least to enjoy the view from the distance.
The capital Ponta Delgada is also close to the port, where you can find the three-arched city gate "Portas da Cidade" and the church "Igreja Matriz de São Sebastião", which has a facade in gothic style. The former monastery church "Igreja da Nossa Senhora da Esperança" also has a quite famous statue of Christ. Here you find also the museum "Carlos Machado", which offers good impressions of the history and culture of the Azores. Ponta Delgada is often the starting point or let's call it check point for many excursion to the crater lakes of "Sete Cidades" in the northwest of the island, which is very well known, or the hot springs of Furnas. Many tourists love it to take advantage of the offers at the harbour to watch whales.

Algumas impressões da Ilha de São Miguel
São Miguel é uma das nove ilhas dos Açores e uma das mais famosas.
Na capital Ponta Delgada é sobretudo o turismo e o estilo de vida, que é entretanto (graças ao Covid-19) a morte, mas espero que em breve mais pessoas venham visitar esta bela ilha e espero que os meus amigos recuperem os seus empregos.
Aqui ficam algumas impressões de Ponta Delgada, do porto e da zona envolvente.
Porque muitos de vós não podem viajar na próxima vez, talvez seja bom pelo menos apreciar a vista à distância.
A capital Ponta Delgada fica também perto do porto, onde pode encontrar a porta da cidade "Portas da Cidade" e a igreja "Igreja Matriz de São Sebastião", que tem uma fachada em estilo gótico. A antiga igreja do mosteiro "Igreja da Nossa Senhora da Esperança" tem também uma estátua de Cristo bastante famosa. Aqui encontra também o museu "Carlos Machado", que oferece boas impressões da história e da cultura dos Açores. Ponta Delgada é muitas vezes o ponto de partida ou vamos chamar-lhe check point para muitas excursões aos lagos das crateras das Sete Cidades, no noroeste da ilha, que é muito conhecida, ou às termas das Furnas. Muitos turistas adoram aproveitar as ofertas do porto para observar baleias.

In der Hauptstadt Ponta Delgada tummelt sich meist der Tourismus und das Leben, welches jetzt dank Covid-19 fast zum erliegen kam und viele meiner Freunde dort Ihre Arbeit verloren.
Hier einige Eindrücke von Ponta Delgada, dem Hafen und der Umgebung.

Die Hauptstadt Ponta Delgada liegt ebenfalls direkt in Hafennähe, dort findet man mitunter das dreibogige Stadttor "Portas da Cidade" und die Kirche "Igreja Matriz de São Sebastião", welche eine Fassade im gotischen Stil hat. Die einstige Klosterkirche "Igreja da Nossa Senhora da Esperança" hat auchh eine recht bekannte Christusstatue. Ebenfalls findet man dort das Museum "Carlos Machado", welches einen guten Eindruck in die Geschichte und Kultur der Azoren bietet. Ponta Delgada ist oftmals der Ausgangspunkt für jegliche Ausflüge zu den Kraterseen von "Sete Cidades" im Nordwesten der Insel, welche sehr bekannt ist oder den Quellen von Furnas. Auch nutzen viele Touristen hier das Angebot am Hafen um sich Wale anzugucken.
