May 2020 · 3 min read · Uva Province

Hello My Fellow Travelers,

Welcome to my today's travel blog. Today I spent more than time for checking good enough travel experience to sharing with you because those information important for build good connection with both countries. I always do my responsible work and try to build powerful bride each other peoples through traveling. Uva provincial areas has huge tourist attraction like central provincial areas in Sri Lanka. But this time I want to share Kalupahana journey where my friend visited previously.

There are more tea estates seemed beside main road. We went through Kalupahana - Ohiya road. It's really beautiful way to find tremendous visuals. With over a thousand natural creations, waterfalls, rivers and tunnels, our country has many unexplored and unseen areas. There are some amazing natural creations in Sri Lanka that have not been revealed yet.

On the way there was a reservoir but no one saw the name. A look at Google Maps revealed that the Walawe River is a reservoir. Belihuloya is one of the most magnificent mountain cliffs with many branches of the Walawe River. Kalupahana Village, just a few kilo meters away from Belihuloya, is Sri Lanka's highest waterfall.

Belihuloya, a little town in Sri Lanka, is the slope of the Hortantenna sanctuary which borders the Central Province. We arrived at Belihul Oya early in the morning and then proceeded from Badulla to Kalupahana junction. The first place we encounter when starting from Kalupahana junction is the Barabakanda Waterfall. It is the tallest waterfall in our country and is at a height of 863 feet and is about 3600 feet above sea level. Many view the falls from below. But upstairs here is a different view.

Kalupahana village perfect for walk inside of the mountain. We were ready to small walk. The climate was superb because sun light doesn't matter for us. We want to explore this place perfectly. Bambarakanda Waterfall is one of the main tributaries of the Samanala stream which feeds the Walawe River. Bambarakanda Falls, surrounded by many mountain peaks, is a beautiful and touristy place.

We entered the small jungle in this area. It wasn't difficult and rough because we were refreshed that moment. We could see little waterfall came from top. Sometimes it could be branch of the Bambarakanda falls. Various species plants gave us nice cool air.

We have walked only 1.5 kilo meters because we couldn't ready to walking through forest. We came only via little waterfall for took some imagine where it came from. We saw some noises of big falls than small one. Yeah...now you also can see some big waterfall. We couldn't reach near because it was difficult. So we captured it since keep some distance.

There was pines trees growing some places not only everywhere. If we go up the trail, we can reach the top of this falls. After descending from a small footpath, a large pine forest. There is a steep slope and be careful when slipping. This place has to be crossed very carefully due to the large slope of the waterfall below. There was huge stones could see. However we spend few minutes there and leaved from here. So thanks for reading.
