Traveling to the Ingiriya Rubber Plantation Estate for a pleasant break..

November 2019 · 5 min read · Western Province

Yesterday evening I got the approval for Half Day because I wanted to have a free break. To celebrate the evening with two of my friends in a beautiful area in the district near us, I chose the Ingiriya Rubber Estate. Located in Udugaha Paththu of Raigam Koralaya, Ingiriya. It is located in the Ingiriya Divisional Secretariat Division of the Kalutara District. I never been there. but both my friends already visited there and they said previous experience was superb. Then I accepted their request.

Everywhere seemed green color. Evening sunlight gave nice reflection mix up to grass and trees. After about six kilometers past Ingiriya on the Meepe Ingiriya road we came across this estate with a canopy extending up the road.

Here is the footsteps that entered the estate. But there was a separate main road. There was a lot of freedom on that side, surrounded by rubber trees. Every time we pass through the rubber estate, we feel the cold.

There is little to no sunlight on the plantation, which is like a canopy. Therefore, underpinning is poor. Only reeds and parasols have been adapted to this condition.

The rubber seedlings obtained from the rubber seeds should be planted in the field prepared for cultivation and maintained properly by fertilizing the tree and suppressing the weeds. Rubber tree is not suitable for tapping until 7 years. Even in the middle of the day, a person who travels near this place can feel the cold. Anyone who has this coolness will realize just how important the plantation and plant cover are for human survival.

A lorry used to transport the latex was parked at the bottom of the estate. Actually there are so many relaxation places has for feel freedom to us under the stress and busy condition. May be I'm too busy man with my working. I know every peoples are hard workers because we are going further with huge competitors. After reach like this places I have forget my problems.

Slowly we descended and headed towards the estate and saw a worker carrying rubber milk. Perhaps he was going to hand it over to the small truck. He didn't see I captured his action. May be if he looked couldn't permission to capture. However I took it from back side.

The above shows the tapping of a tree on a rubber tree. It is best to cut the tapping of a tree on a rubber tree, so that the rubber tree is at the top of the bud joint. When the top 120 cm is about 50 cm.

After cutting, the milk from the rubber trees is collected with the help of coconut shells or small buckets and sent to the rubber plants. In the case of rubber tapping, the dried plate is removed from the place where the tapping is done and is called ottapaloo. At the Rubber Plant, rubber is subjected to various processes and various products are obtained.

In the rubber plant, the different types of factories are manufactured using these products. These are Hoses, Tubes, Auto Parts, Solid Tyers, Conveyor Belts, Hot Water Bottles. Rubber based products and other rubber products are also available.

It is a dry leaf of a rubber tree. The tapping of the rubber trees temporarily halts the shearing of the leaves. The reason is that the water absorbs water from the roots through the water potential gradient of transpiration. With this water, other elements and minerals needed for the plant enter the plant. Food is synthesized in the plant using these raw materials. These synthesized substances are obtained as latex. I've instructed by one officer when I met him through this journey. Big thankful to him.

These are vines that grow under the rubber trees as shrubs. These are the vines that grow all over the country. However, for a lesser value, my camera was of great value. Depending on the photographer's ability, can make a big difference.

The plantation, lined with rubber trees and the ever-cool environment, appeals to all who enter it. Just like the flower above. Even though it is a jungle flower, it is very beautiful. There are many species of beehives and meadows here. The band's voice provides background music. If you walk on the sidewalk, you will be able to experience the beauty of it.

The above two photos were taken at random. I don't know the names. But taken because it looks nice. If you walk the footpath through the estate, at least a few leeches will touch your feet. Because the rubber trees provide an ideal environment for the leeches.
