Knowing my ideal city, London

Knowing my ideal city, London

July 2020 · 3 min read · England

After the wonders that Paris had brought us in just two days, our minds and hearts were already preparing for what was coming, the city of London, a city in which I long to live in the not too distant future.

The Euro Star trip was very cool and fast, on that occasion I had to travel alone and I was a little anxious about the communication issue, but there was no problem. After some beautiful landscapes, we were in the beautiful city of London, longed for by one of my traveling companions.

I remember that as soon as we arrived, I said "It’s London Baby", a phrase that we repeated throughout our stay. I remember making the change to the local currency and the first thing we did was having a cup of coffee. We located the inn and checked in, and then we went out for a walk around. I could see that the citizens were incredibly friendly; it certainly was an extra point for London.

When you are getting to know a city as impressive as London, you lose your sense of time and what would be a few small steps down the block, turns into a long walk of a few hours, where taking lots of photos was the order of the day. We started our walk on foot towards the London Bridge, then we continued to the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London bordering the Thames, we passed through City of London, an elegant business district.

In each step I took, I was amazed to be there, I loved what the three of us had achieved, and it was great. As we approached the world-famous Tower of London, I spotted a Starbucks, I told my friends that we should stop and have a good coffee there.

Then, we passed the Tower Bridge, which allowed us to take many more photos. We posed in all possible angles; we laughed a lot, we were certainly happy to be there. After that, we returned to the inn, to take a short break and go out again, my mom stayed resting, so my friend and I continued to walk those British streets.

We got to know Hyde Park, we walked a bit, and I reflected on how much I would like to have a place like this near where I live, with so many green areas, to play sports or just sit with my guitar and sing some good songs or have a picnic with some friends. It was time to return to the inn because the following day, many more adventures would come.
