The best sites with cheap flights, wanna bet? Save from $100 to $400

February 2020 · 8 min read · Missouri

Well let me start by saying “I feel you”, I really do, having to go through endless hotels and flights search engines looking for the best prices at the preferred date and destination of your choice can be really hectic and needlessly time-consuming.

It is pretty darn annoying! Wouldn’t you agree? – Most probably, You do!

That is why I’ll be revealing the best sites with cheap flights. And No I'm not trying to sell you anything, you choose, you decide!

Although bear in mind that some of the links in this post are affiliate links and if you go through them to make a purchase I will earn a small commission. I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission.

-Note: Extra valuable Tip will be given to utilize this app to it’s fullest potential and save $$$-

That being said, we have discovered the “Neo” of the Flights/Hotels booking websites.

1- Hopper.com

For those who have never heard of this app, we present to you Hopper.

So let’s hop into it right away, dissect this wonderful magical bunny and have a closer view, at its features.

Features :

  1. Hopper watches Billions of flight prices daily to predict the right time to book your flight/hotel, saving up to 40%.
  2. Hopper predicts prices with 95% accuracy up to 1 year in advance. No ads, no spam, no stress — just accurate predictions and the easiest way to book and save.
  3. Hopper watches your travel dates and when the prices fall down, it will instantly notify you before they’re likely to rise again.
  4. Hopper only operates through their mobile-friendly application on iOS & Android, meaning they don’t have a desktop version that you can use on your Laptop/Computer.
  5. They have great customer service, they’re quick to respond.
  6. Hopper has helped 30 million travelers book trips around the world, saving them more than $1.8 billion to date.

So after downloading and signing up on Hopper, it is easy to navigate through.

1- You start by choosing your travel destination. Hopper will show you prices ranging from lowest to highest. As you can see Hopper will provide us with a calendar map, where green being the cheapest price and red being the highest.

2- After picking a suitable date for your flight, Hopper will either advise you to book the ticket now or to wait and keep it on Watching where then it will notify you when there is a price drop.

You could also look at the Price Prediction for extra details regarding the price conditions for that particular ticket selection.

3- If you are lucky enough to find the ticket on its cheapest season, then all you have to do is just book the flight.

If not, all you have to do is wait for the magical bunny to deliver you a price drop message with a sweet “tring” notification sound.

And if you are a Nonstop traveler, Hopper has this great feature where it will only track Nonstop flights for you by clicking the Watch Nonstop Only button.

-Tip- (as promised)

To conclude our final Hop, we will do so by giving a very informative tip. That is by booking flights that are closer to your destination’s airport.

We will use a real tested scenario, so let us say you live in Phoenix, Arizona -United States and you plan to spend your vacation in Paris -France. The cheapest price to Paris is for $750 that is for a round trip but If you fly to Los Angeles instead by booking a $60 ticket from Phoenix to Los Angeles and from there book a round-trip flight to “Paris” which you will get for $575, you would be easily saving $115 instantly.

This method can be applied anywhere outside Hopper, try to always travel locally first to be at the nearest point of your targeted destination country, the cost will be lowered and thus you can enjoy the extra money that you have saved.

For every Neo, there is a Morpheus. This next airfare search engine site has freed regular citizens just like you and me from the Matrix of the airlines, so much so that the mighty United Airlines tried to sue this website but United Airlines lost and this unique website prevailed.

2- Skiplagged.com

If you are an avid traveler and haven’t heard of this website, well get ready to skip and forget your previous travel booking websites and make space for Skiplagged.

Skiplagged has a very unique concept of traveling method, Airlines play a dirty game and Skiplagged exposes their loopholes in airfare pricing to save you money.

Skiplagged’s secret is making hidden-city flights available which airlines do not really like. If you haven’t heard of this before, a hidden-city flight is a flight where instead you getting off at the final destination, you get off at the layover.

For example, a regular flight from Seattle to Dallas might be $209, but a similar flight from Seattle to Oklahoma with a layover in Dallas might be $99. If you’re going to Dallas, we’ll show you both flights. If you choose the cheaper one, you get off the plane at the layover (Dallas) rather than going to the final ticketed destination (Oklahoma).

This airfare search engine is of different caliber like no other, so let us skip the intro and dive into its features.

Features :

  1. Exposes inefficiencies in airline pricing, such as hidden-city, to find you deals you can’t get anywhere else.It shows you the cheapest regular flights.
  2. Savings could reach up to 80%.
  3. Easy to use App for both iOS and Android with great UI experience.

1- Start by creating an account by clicking here (https://skiplagged.com/r/metravelo).

The website is fairly easy to use, its a search engine for flight tickets. you won’t have an issue to search for flight tickets.Simply choose the city you are located at and pick the destination you want to travel to. It is advised to pick a One Way flight. (will be discussed in details below)

2- Various results will appear, every single flight has a price history showing you whether there is an increase in price or a price drop. Pick a suitable travel date for your trip. You fill your information and easy as that, you got yourself the best-priced ticket out there.

BUT before jumping into Skiplagged and booking a flight, we need to mention some points that I personally want to share after doing extensive research with Skiplagged users and want you to be aware of.

1- You need to be flexible by being able to choose One Way flight!

Because If you get off at the layover and skip the final destination. Airlines get irritated and will try to cancel your return ticket, so avoid that by booking a one-way flight.

2- Advised not to carry Hold-Luggage.

We recommend you bring a backpack that can fit under the seat in front of you or the enclosed overhead bin because if you bring a Hold Luggage, it is most probably to end up in the final ticketed destination.

3- Get your passport!

For international flights, you will be required to carry your passport to board the plane (even if you’re not going all the way to the final destination).

4- Visa may be required (for international travelers)

Depending on the country or territory of your final destination. Usually, a passport is sufficient (depending on your nationality) but other times you may also require a visa for some countries.

5- Do not link your frequent flyer account.

As said earlier, Airlines are not fond of Skiplagged, so it is better not to associate your frequent flyer account so that they would not suspend the miles that you have accumulated.

6- In some cases, airlines may demand proof of return ticket.

If this occurs to you, just purchase a refundable return ticket from the airline and cancel it afterward when you board the plane.

Don't Forget: Get Travel Health Insurance!

To make your trip a worry-free experience, TravelFeed recommends SafetyWing Nomad Insurance. It provides comprehensive health coverage while you travel, so you can focus on exploring, not the unexpected. Get a quote here

  1. In conclusion, is the savings worth the hassle? Finally, I’ll share my thoughts, it really depends on who you ask and what purpose you are traveling for but personally I would utilize Skiplagged’s service whenever possible.

Why not? If I can save 30%-70% per flight, meaning I can save around $500-$900 US Dollars on my 10th flight, which is beyond great.

I hope you have found this article informative and have enjoyed it. Do you think that these are one of the best sites with cheap flights?
