Travel Iceland

Iceland for a Unique travel experience. Not as cold as you thought. One of the most memorable places I have ever been. I went three times, I loved it so much.

At the time of my visit I was told their were only 300,000 people in the entire country. One thing you notice is no haze or air pollution. Crystal clear air, clean water. The landscape is so unique, when your plane is landing you feel you are landing on another planet.

The locals have a saying, “If you get lost in the woods of Iceland, stand up!” There are very few, if any tall trees. This one aspect makes the scenery look unique. Also I noticed all of the ice, even icicles hanging from an awning was that glacial blue.

Notice no haze! As far as you can see, super clear air.

The drill wells for cold water at a certain depth. Then the drill even deeper and hit hot water. Houses are heated with this water and when you get a shower, the hot water without a water heater is ready for you.

The next few photos are of the Blue Lagoon. Hot mineral water coming from the earth. When the water evaporates it leaves this blue residue. The water actually looked luminescent! Water so hot in places you could not venture.

We went to these falls called godafoss or God Falls. The story goes that the missionaries came to Iceland the Vikings through their idols or “gods” over these falls. So the falls got their name.

When we traveled far north a restaurant was just somebody’s home with three tables or so. No menu! You are what they served you! But it was always great. Home made cream and fresh fish caught out of the Norwegian Sea that same day.

No photos but I went to Puffin Island, whale watched. Just a wonderful experience.

It is said that the Icelandic language is almost exact to what the Vikings spoke. The people were friendly and proud of their country.

Thank you for your time.
