Arrival in Sicily

As a child, I was fond of history. So I read a lot of books on historical subjects. Quite often, Sicily appeared in books. This island has become a clash of states and peoples.
And finally, I had the chance to visit this island. I will not hide it. I experienced a certain excitement before arrival.

The plane gently sat on the concrete strip of the airfield. The doors opened ... and we breathed the mediterranean air of velvet night.

Before going to bed, we decided to take a walk. What is the first and main impression? The abundance of garbage in the streets :-(
I read about this feature of the south of Italy, but nevertheless this was my first impression upon arrival.

In the dark of night we were attracted by the sounds of music. Some unknown musician loudly and fervently played gold hits. The music sounded very attractive. Besides, it would be nice to have something to eat ...

The room was very noisy and fun. I hardly identified the waiter. I asked him:

--- È possibile mangiare qualcosa?
--- Cosa vorresti?
--- Bolognese o qualcosa del genere ...
--- Aspetti un po ', lo riconosco in cucina

The pasta was great! The waiter later told me that the cook went home, and the guy, without hesitation, prepared me pasta.

The morning comes. We hurry to the sea. The cries of gulls, the sound of the surf, the salty wind - what else is needed for happiness?

In November it is pretty cool. Therefore, our hopes of swimming in the sea were in vain. However, for the brave and strong in their bodies, cold water is not an obstacle

For some time we have been watching surfers with interest. Then we go along the coast

We are heading to a fishing village. Our goal is a seafood restaurant

Here are the fishing boats. We smell fish

And here is the fish trade. But why are there so few participants?

IMG_5956.JPG

We ask sellers where we can taste the best seafood. It turns out this is a very difficult question. An instant dispute arises. Locals are very emotional. New participants are actively involved in the dispute.
...
We make a difficult decision.

Looks like we made the right choice.
