I visited this garden the other day to go to Viking market. I realized that I came here before, and I found these old pictures I took last year. Time really flies! I cannot believe that one year has already passed since I went to the garden.
If you like history especially the history of the Vikings, you would like to come here to feel that you are back in the Viking era. I believe that the local community and the city manage this garden to educate children how the Vikings used to live in this area. It is pretty cool to see how these buildings are well taken care of. All the buildings in the garden look very old Viking style. It is pretty cool!
It was nice to meet this Viking woman in the garden. She explained about the garden how we can learn how the Viking era walking around the garden. There is a shack for pigs and cows which they care of in the garden, and a vegetable garden which they plan veggies the Vikings used to eat in the old time.
Inside the hut, it was a lot bigger than I expected. She was so nice to show us what they display in the hut. They decorate the inside of the hut with goods that the Vikings used in their era. Cups that were made of cows horns look pretty cool.
I was surprised in a good way how the local community and the city have been taking care of this garden. They are proud of their heritage as Vikings and use this garden to educate the younger generations about the Viking culture and tradition. 😄👍
Do you what runestones are? I have got interested in the Viking culture since I came to Sweden. Runestones are relic stones that the Viking curves messages on it. There are many runestones in Stockholm and overall Scandinavia such as Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, England, and more. The Vikings used an old Nordic language called Rune so that they curved messages using Runes.

I did not realize why they named this garden "The Viking Garden - Gunne's Garden". As you can read in the rune reading, Gunni, the Viking person used to live in this area almost 1000 years ago. It is pretty cool to know that people continuously live in this area and be proud of their heritage to take it down from generation to generation. 😃👏👏
