Fırtına Creek

Today is the 26th of April,Friday, the 37th day of our stay at home with my family because of the Corona Virus. Today i want to write about an old trip of mine. When i studied in Karadeniz Technical Univesity in Trabzon,Turkiye some of my high school friends visited me.

Year 2004, I was a student at the university and I lived in a student house in Trabzon. Two of my friends who studied at another university in Istanbul asked me to take them to Trabzon.

By the way, I have to say that hospitality is very important in Turks. Although I had an exam week, I took my friends in Trabzon and Rize for 4 days.I must also say that the photos were taken in 2004 with Orite that has got only 5 megapixels.Frankly, my friends were quite unlucky. Because it rained during our visit. We're talking about the weather of Trabzon though, right?

We continue our trip with my friends from where we left off. It took almost a day to visit the Sumela Monastery, and our clothes got wet. Anyway, we went to Trabzon and had dinner at home and we decided what to do for tomorrow.

First we would go to the University and then hitchhike to Rize and Ardeşen. When we got there, we would take the buses going up from the Firtina creek and finally arrive at Camlihemsin,Ayder. In fact, everything has happened as I have explained so far.

Under normal conditions, that is, the road, which will take an hour and a half by car, unfortunately found 4-5 hours. On the contrary, we could not find a car to go to Ayder plateau in Çamlıhemşin. And if we couldn't find a car, there would be approximately 1-1.5 hours of uphill road ahead. As soon as we lost our hope, a gentleman saw us. We were even more happy when he said he had a pension in Ayder Plateau.

When he heard that we were students, he did not want to receive money from us. But we did not accept this and gave our money to stay for one night.

Ayder Plateau ... The first time I came here was with a tour organized by our university. I fell in love with the storm stream and Gelintülü waterfall. Especially in the silence, that incredible sound of the storm creek was perfect. I felt like a meditating monk. And I didn't think I could see the shades of green together until I got there.

In fact, the first thing I said was, "This place cannot belong to the world, it must be a piece of heaven." By the way, I can not pass without mentioning, unfortunately, they have destroyed the nature of this beautiful plateau. Yes, you can still go and visit, but unfortunately there are no traces of that old virginity. Of course, those who go there for the first time cannot understand this difference.

Ayder Spa Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center is located in Ayder plateau. So it was a very successful place for the time I went.
This is an idyllic place especially for people who enjoy trekking and camping. As an activity, trekking are organized to the summit of Kaçkar Mountains. Unfortunately we did not have that much time and it was very rainy and foggy. Anyway, we stayed in the pension for one night and returned to Trabzon the next day after breakfast.
