Dinner Date at Señor Bico Ristorante in Palo, Leyte Philippines

June 2021 · 4 min read · Leyte

Delicious food with a soothing place. Simple preparation but traditional materials. I felt like I was home when I experienced eating in this place. The food was not that expensive but it satisfies me. I was embarrassed at first when I thought someone was serenading us while eating. That's why we took our time eating to listen more to that woman singing. It was supposed to be filling our hungry stomachs and left. Then all of a sudden it became a dinner date. It felt very romantic eating with my girlfriend while listening to a person singing love songs.

I hesitated at first seeing this restaurant bar. I'm not good in crowded places, stepping back was in my thought seeing classy people. I was ashamed to be seen but urged to go inside after hearing a sound from my stomach. The place looked elegant as I let my sight wander around. It's not just a simple restaurant upon seeing furniture and designs. I stopped what I was thinking when a crew lady approached us the time we stepped inside. She asked us to leave, no, just kidding. She immediately handed us the menu book and let us sit inside.

The food was not that expensive but considering a less penny boy. It was for me but seeing together with the feeling being inside. We decided to eat here and enjoy the day with my girlfriend.

While waiting for the food to serve we took a few shots with the decorations beside us. Something's inside me that was telling me this was like in a movie. I mean like those romantic movies when a man dated his girlfriend. Unfortunately, there were just decorations and not allowed to sit there. It's fine to take some shots for memories maybe.

I enjoyed looking around at the place. The food didn't arrive yet so I had the time to cherish its surroundings more. My curious thoughts were wondering why it looked like this. I asked myself if there's no story or history of this place. I couldn't answer it obviously. I was not from this place after all. I asked that crew lady after serving the food at last.

"This was just a furniture place before. They were selling the only furniture here. Again, the pandemic was the root of evil. The daughter's owner's restaurant at the airport was closed. She wanted to continue serving food. That's why she made this place a restaurant bar and a furniture store. Although at night they don't sell furniture because they used the other side as a drinking place and the other place where we sat was an eating place. It's not necessarily where you'll drink or eat. They just added more space to have a wider place. The name itself was the name of the owner."

After eating I wanted to listen more to that woman singing. I'm not sure if there were no liquors they couldn't give. I just don't remember the names of those because it's too many.

Listening to music and then looking at each other's eyes. I felt that romantic moment enveloped the two of us. It may sound cheesy or something you may call it. People will not understand unless they will be the ones to feel it.

So here's a video when that woman was singing. Sorry the conversations by the way. lol
