Definitely I am not visiting this beautiful place during this lockdown! I wish I could be locked myself down at Scotland so that I could walk couple of months to watch the country’s best places. I did not visit the world but I guess Scotland got several places which are Top in the world! Actually our journey targeted to visit several places at Scotland and we had no idea but a sudden call to gather couple of my friends and just went to the dreamland!
As we did not book the tickets before the price was high but, we were desperate to go. We could not manage to get the Train so had to take National Express at 10pm for 11 hours journey which was direct one! We have reached at Edinburgh Bus station at 9am and it was bit cold morning.
The first thing comes to my eyes is the Melville Monument at St. Andrew Square which is most prominent locations in the City when we were entering in the new city. The monument was named to the Great Tyrant uncrowned king of Scotland Melville. We wanted to seat and enter in the pretty park the monument could be 100 feet high.
We grab a drink and went into the St. Andrew Square's park! This is the first time I saw Tulips face to face.
We were seating there for a little while and decided to ready for the beautiful day! The big day ahead with full of surprises!
Scott Monument, the huge monument will attract your eyes as well just after you’re entering in the Princes Street at the New Town. I thought this is for some kind of war monument but lately I came to know that it is a Victorian Gothic monument to Scottish author Sir Walter Scott and of course world’s second largest monument to a writer which is more than 200 feet high.
We were wondering to watch the difference between the Past and the Present! The Scotland’s capital has a rich past and the historic Edinburgh began thousand years ago. Basically, the Old town is the original town of Edinburg which was laid out behind and the Old city wall and covers the present Castle area to Holyrood Palace. So the New town covers the north area Called Princes Street.
Although the new town is called new and this is 200 years old now! It is like the city of two halves! From the new town if you look to the old one it could seem like you are watching Harry Potter movie’s plot in the TV or some kind of scary movie live on your bare eyes!
As we do not have the idea of the main attraction of the city, we decided to take a tourist bus tour and chose the Majestic Tour which took us to the Port of Leith.
On the way we have seen the Royal Botanic Garden just besides Goldencare huge Playing Fields and Calton Hill.
My recommendation is to research websites and google the area and plan accordingly before visiting any place; I always do this but not happened during this tour! We were thinking we should walk and explore instead of take the Bus tour, it could be more enjoying but alas we had no time to do that at that moment. The rain started and we thought our tour jusj end! But it was clear the clouds with no time!!!

The “Inchkeith Island” we observed from the bus, it is a small island generally use for lighthouse and was performed as defense zone in the past.
Although our Bus would stop at Scott Monument area where we have started but we decided to get off at the Palace of Holyroodhouse's stop to go for hiking towards the Holyrood Park.
Thanks Everyone! The tour just started as in the next post we are going for Hiking and climb the summit of Arthur’s Seat, the highest point of Edinburgh!
