Trekking to the deep Bandarban Hill Tracts: Day Four

February 2020 · 3 min read · Chattogram Division

Day Four! The final day at wonderland, Bandarban! Rimakri itself is a beautiful place but we went there during dry season so couldn't able to watch the beautiful water steps named the "Rimakri Waterfalls".

Water getting deep somewhere and even deeper somewhere!
Water getting deep somewhere and even deeper somewhere!

We have started our journey form Rimakri early in the morning around 8am.

This time we have checked with our boatmen whether the boat is waterproof or not! As this time we gonna continue our journey through deep water safety was necessary.

We were watching the beautiful landscape and selfie was must!

Please ignore lots of pictures in this post! I couldn't able to decide which one to keep which one need loose as this would be the end day of the Bandarban tour.

Although boatmen asked us to use one boat only but we didn't take any risk and hire two boats.

We started with low tide soon our boat started to run instead of walk as we were moving down this time! While walking started three days ago we went up and up I guess; as we could see the water going down the stream and of course there is no way up for this kind of River.

Water less or more nothing could stopped our journey, we had to drag our boat!

Although we have started low water to deep water soon we found there is no River anymore (!) but only little water moving down. We all had get off the boat and boatman drag the boat to the deep water with our help.

This is the point where water getting deeper and we all started our journey again...

Beautiful nature scenery around! Believe me each of the steps down the stream will provide you a brand new beauty! Each rock is different to watch. I actually can't explain my feelings in my words.

I have no knowledge about Petrology but these steps might represent water level of different times....

Boat passing and leaving mark of paints!

This is not a good sign, most off the boat made a scratch during passing this place which made the rock looks like this, we should keep the things as it is so that nature could stay as it is! We should be more careful and need to save the natural beauty of the planet.

Finally we jumped into open water

About Bandarban

Bandarban is the most remote district of Bangladesh and surrounding with hills and least populated. You might meet around fifteen tribes of the region if you trek through the mountains. Also, this region is danger free a era now, we went there during off season and found many tourists. There would be a permission required upon visiting this place. Although many western guides may describe the Hill Tracts as major security risk but it is not anymore since the insurgency ceased more than a era now!
