Sky Adventure --- Conquering My Fear Of Heights!

Sky Adventure --- Conquering My Fear Of Heights!

April 2019 · 2 min read · Cebu City

I fear heights. Well, not that too much fear but I get a bit nervous and I sweat a little when I look down from a very high place.

I took the leap of conquering my fear when I decided to try the Sky Experience Adventure in Crown Regency, Cebu. I had second thoughts. There are a lot of things going into my mind. My fear took over me.
Is it really safe? What if the ride is not well-engineered? What if the machine will stop and I am in it? These were the questions I had that made my heart beat faster and legs tremble.

Nevertheless, I convinced myself to take the risk and try the Edge Coaster. The Edge Coaster in Crown Regency, Cebu is the very first in the world and it is said that there's nothing like this ride elsewhere! In this ride, you will be locked into a rail seat while it goes around the building. This gives you a 360-degree view of the city. At first, it was scary, the fact that I was on the 38th floor made me weak! The rail seat has a control lever that can tilt up to 55 degrees. But you can't control the first 10 minutes of the ride. So, you have no choice but to look down since the seat will be tilted. I admit I got super scared to the point that I shouted "mom!" ;) I had negative thoughts again. And I told myself, if the machine will malfunction and fall down, I will surely die! That was the first 10 minutes of the ride. Fortunately, I was able to conquer that. The rest of the time is for you to control. You have the option to tilt the sit or not.

Apart from the Edge Coaster, the Sky Experience Adventure has the Skywalk Extreme where you will walk around the edge of the building which is more or less 127 meters high above the street and the Tower Zip where you can cross the two buildings on a cable line. I didn’t try these two but maybe in the future, I will go back and experience such.

I felt happy that I was able to conquer my fears. It was a one-of-a-kind experience and worth a try.
