From there we went to visit some family members who were holidaying in the area before heading south again to Newcastle.

From our funky accommodation in Newcastle it was off to Glenrock Conservation Park. It had a lot of mountain biking trails but also some hiking ones. We took the Leggy Point Loop track (see photo above) which took us to a beautiful, isolated beach. (Screenshot sourced from NSW National Parks)

Then we cooled off at the Merewether Baths, a free, public, saltwater pool. These were the steep, long steps we had to walk up to get back to the car.

Once our visit to Newcastle was complete and family members each went their own way, we headed west towards Dubbo.

We broke up the trip by heading to the famous Dripping Walk in the tiny location known as Ulan. Located inside the Goulburn River National Park.

It had been raining quite a lot and so the water in the creek was up. It made crossing over the stones more fun.

Much of the path was dirt, but sections of it were also slabs of rock, and other surfaces.

We did not see many people along the track but there was quite a few exploring the Drip Gorge area.
