Lake Alford, Gympie, Qld

February 2022 · 2 min read · Gympie
190 kilometres north of Brisbane is Gympie. After driving for 2 hours it is always good to stretch the legs out. Lake Alford is the perfect spot with plenty of parking, clean toilets, shade and a chance to connect with a bit of nature. It’s only about 700m around the lake but that perfect distance for us to get the blood moving, have a bit to eat, drink and grab a few photos before we on our way again. We have used this nice spot as a pit stop on a few recent long weekends away. (Photo is a screenshot of my Strava app)

Thought I was in some trouble when this large Black Swan came marching towards me but I think they’re just used to being fed by human visitors to the park.
