This weekend we headed off to explore Mt Edwards, which is part of the Moogerah Peaks National Park. It was an hour and half drive south west from Brisbane. We didn't get up that early but maybe as the weather wasn't that good there was only 2 cars in the Moogerah Dam car park where you start the hike from.

The engineering of the small dam wall was weird and felt unsettling as we walked across because of the overhang and drop off, to the lower right side.

That’s got to be a good sign, butterfly caught mid flight and center of frame in front of Mt Greville on the other side of the lake.

Half way! The track had no marking but was very well worn so you could not really get lost.

Lots of weeds on the lower sections but we think these are some native wild flowers called Fringe Lily’s.

A fair bit of rain over night had the worms out and made it very humid.

My usual close up lizard photo. Looks like this one has a new tail. You can just make out the different pattern, these skinks can drop there tail when threatened and can grow a new one.

It was pretty much constantly up, not many flat spots which actually made it hard on the decent and my legs felt like jelly as you sort of need the leg muscles to act as brakes the whole time.
