Accommodation in Cornwall - Mullion Cove - Westcliff Cottage Arrival - Day 1

September 2018 · 3 min read

Hey Steemit holiday goers and friends!

Thought I'd share with you things that I get up to this week as I am going to be in Cornwall on holiday with some of my old school friends. Starting this week off is our long trip from High Wycombe to the beautiful south west coast of Cornwall in the UK, a place called "Mullion Cove". Specifically, the name of the place we are staying in is called "Westcliff".

As you can see, it was difficult to contain our excitement as we made our way down the motorway and A roads!

In the picture below we have Wheeler on the left, myself in the middle on the back seat and Hammad on the right!

It was a long drive down but kudos to Hammad for getting us here. The weather took a turn for the worse when we entered Cornwall as the mist came in, hugging us as we meandered our way down the A roads. After a few tight navigations of the narrow country lanes, we made it in to our accommodation for the week - Westcliff - just beating the Tesco delivery man as we got our stock for the week. I did want to try and get some snaps of the place before we inevitably disrupted it and thankfully got some in!

When you walk in to the door, you're greeted by an awesome open planned kitchen, chilling area and dining table with great views on the fields out the back (and hopefully the sea but it's pretty misty at the moment)!

Once we got everything stashed away, it was time to draw straws for the rooms, or in our case, breaking a couple of matchsticks in to pieces and see who got the short matchstick!

There are 3 rooms in the single storey cottage, a double room with ensuite and doors leading to the garden, double room with views overlooking the fields out the back and a twin room with views to the front, with the last two rooms sharing the shower room. Needless to say, the ensuite was the desired room and if we drew the full match stick, it was ours, the short matchstick was the twin room and the middle one was the double.

Wheeler went first and he drew the short straw, getting the twin room, then I drew next and landed the ensuite - result! Leaving Hammad with the double. Now we're all settled in, we'll be exploring the nearby area and getting our coastal walks in, let's hope for good weather!

More to come from me as the week goes on and will give you all an update on the accommodation, where the views will hopefully pick up when the mist subsides! Time for some fish and chips ;)
