Today while I was cleaning my phone a bit I found some photos taken during the Christmas holidays in the beautiful city of Arezzo where I went to visit the markets. Arezzo is a beautiful Tuscan city about a couple of hours away from here. Arezzo is a city rich in history, art, culture and events. Its Christmas markets are among the most beautiful in Tuscany and are inspired by the world of southern Tyrol, so they have a typical northern Italian air. Arezzo is a rich city also famous for its gold trade and its churches contain famous works by Cimabue or Piero dell'Francesca. The city is divided by two streams and borders Florence, also famous for its valleys.

The markets I visited were really beautiful, full of products, especially food, my great passion, and Christmas decorations, there were various stalls of delicacies, chocolates, homemade sweets, strudels, sweets and other delights such as bananas in chocolate or candied apples. The square was very full especially in the evening when all the decorations were lit up, obviously there were many decorations with themes such as Santa Claus and stars and bows. The bulk of the markets were held in Piazza Grande, a beautiful medieval square with ancient buildings but also in the surroundings of the imposing cathedral. Towards the evening, in my opinion, is the best time also because during the markets the city is also lit up by the large Ferris wheel, lit up in blue and very tall, open from early afternoon at a fairly modest cost. These markets were truly wonderful but it would take a trip of several days because in addition to the stalls Arezzo has many attractions to offer and there are many monuments to visit, it is a place where I will certainly have to return!!
