Monteguidi a little treasure in Tuscany

May 2023 · 1 min read · Tuscany

Monteguidi is a town that we discovered by chance, we made a small trip to bring our wedding invitation to a relative who moved nearby, in this small Tuscan village, nestled by rolling green hills, immersed in the typical Tuscan landscapes . Monteguidi has very few inhabitants and is really a relaxing place where civilization is distant, the only attractions are the two churches and the remains of the medieval city, it was a castle of the Aldobrandeschi, it was a very famous place of passage in the 1300s, today of the castle only a door and a portion of the wall remain.

I visit really quickly, it's a more visited place in the summer and in winter the few inhabitants are forced to go down to the nearby towns because there are few services, just a bar that opens every now and then. However, the place is ideal for photographing the beautiful Tuscan landscapes and seeing old stone houses, I loved the light that was on the stony village, a place that is also quiet and where it seems to disconnect from the world for a while. Very pleasant to visit if you go by car towards Casole d'Elsa..
