Starting my trip in Croatia #Tripping

November 2018 · 2 min read

Here I am with my very first post on my trip to Croatia, this post will introduce the next ones that will describe all the cities I have visited. I was in Croatia in September and I talked about it in some posts in Italian, my native language now I have done a translation and extension work and I will write it in English.

My trip to Croatia started with a long car ride, my boyfriend and I had many miles of car up to Trieste, having lunch with the insipid sandwiches of the autogrill and listening to radio programs. In Trieste we stopped to take some pictures and then continue to Slovenia where we had some minor problems to take the right road to Croatia!

When we found the road we were tired and hungry but we did not stop until we saw the border, then we stopped for a snack, what then would have been an almost constant part of our Croatian diet, panin with chicken and potatoes! And beer, lots of beer! We have also learned the Croatian word for beer! Pivo!

The arrival in Croatia was beautiful, welcomed by the sun and streets on the sea it seemed to us to be in a dream, our visage began well. To stay we had chosen an apartment near Porec, a delightful one bedroom apartment not far from this town and at a very low price! But many things have a low price for us in Croatia, the exchange with their coins, the cunee, for us is excellent change!

View in Trieste.

Arrived in the apartment, a lovely Croatian lady welcomed us with her stunted Italian, however many here speak Italian and German in addition to their Serbian and Croatian main languages, all of the Slavonic stock.

The lady showed us our apartment, small but comfortable and with a terrace with a table where she had left for us a bottle of typical Croatian wine, a red wine with berries, very sweet and light.

In short, a sweet welcome Croat, We meanwhile planned our journey, the next day we would stop in Porec city and in the following days we wanted to visit the entire Istrian coast or almost all. I wait for you soon for the rest of my travel story, Croatia is a magnificent country with magnificent people!
