Montemerano it's really one of the most charming villages in Tuscany in my opinion I took a little roadtrip in the Tuscanian maremma and I found many little and noce places, I arrived at this place that It was almost dark but I found it really fascinating in the evening. This village is close to the Saturnia terme I went there after the bath in the terme, that I described in my previous post :

Montemerano it's really little and situated in the read to Scansano, if you like wine you must recognise the name because they produce the Scansano wine that is very popular around the world.

The village was first romanic and now still have the old medieval look, the streets are little and made by rocks and also the house are mostly in rocks. It was probably part of the many aldobrandeschi lands. Montemerano it's little only few people live there but they have a big library, unfortunately it was late and I can't see it because it was closed, by the way walking in the streets was cool to, we also meet some posters about the Pinocchio fairytale that it's famous in Tuscany. M

Montemerano still is surrounded by the old walls and have the main square entitled to the castle, unfortunately remains only few parts of it..The main church it's Saint George church it's a little but charming holy place with a famous paint called Madonna della gattaiola.

You can visit the village in like two hours if you walk slow. If you like around the village many people go running or with horses, there are many horses in this area.

I enjoyed my visit also if it was a little cold, the village look really magical under the night lights.
